Default 2 more 89 GT's..... (including the very first 89 GT?)

Today I added two more 1989 928 GT's to my website. One of them is perhaps the VERY first 1989 928 GT built - #1100. The second is currently on eBay and is a very rare (at least in GT's) Baltic Blue Metallic. It has the wrong muffler but the option codes confirm its a GT. Here is the updated page: 1989 928 GT listing page (refresh the page if you do not see them)

Adding these two 89 GT's brings the total to 62!

Chuck: Is this the Baltic GT?

I've heard this dealer does not welcome walk-ins, and on at least one shark was rude to same. He does no-reserve auctions, but always has at least one zero or low feedback bidder. He's been accused of other things, but I would love to have this car.

I've heard the same sorts of things but, I too would love to have this car. Looks like its in decent shape and the seller does point out that all the VIN tags are on all the body panels which is a good start in they are all in fact there with numbers on them.

Very nice to see the list more and more complete...now that 1st one....another Canadian version (1 of 4 I think)..and no rear air.....Just don't tell me he took out sport seats and tossed the original CS rims......

So..now I know of three Canadian (one black - mine, one white with can can red interior, and now this red one...all without rear air).....where's the last one ?......

And a final question....any North American 89 GT's without sunroofs?..now that would be a find...
Later,
Tom

Hm, seller thinks it's an S4. If he reads this forum, the $$$ will go up quick. Has the S4 script on the back, but the redline on the tach does mean "GT". Kinda weird, '89 with digital dash, but, of course, no airbags. Is that a US thing? I was under the impression that '90 was the first digi-dash. Maybe not.

Too bad the seller is an ***.

Look at teh current high bidder on the auction.

He has had bids in on over 150 vehicles. And won 11 of them

That is one reason the 89 in the most desirable and rare of the 928's . It was the first with the digital dash but no airbags...and had CS rims, and race cut diff 40%lsd...no psd here....etc... and on and on...

Of course this is just my very biased opinion...

Thx Tom. Of course the '89 was the 'trial' GT. They didn't get it "right" until the '90 model with the addition of bags, PSD, etc.

Those rims look like Design 90. Is club sport the same or very similar?

Ha ha... good one..

Actually..the 88 CS was the trial GT ...the 89 did it right..and then the plush executives got their hands on it...haha....

The Design 90's are cast..and the sizes are 9 rear 7.5 front...(not sure on offsets)
The CS are forged with rear 9 and 8 front (60mm offset all the way around), and lighter and stronger overall.

They are forged where as the D90's are a cast wheel. Some visual difference around the lip of the wheel too.

I see the diff now. My spokes are nearly flat from the hub out, and the CS have an offset curve. I think all GTs are the 'best' of the breed, it's just that the 90GT is, well more bestest. hahaha! Oh, and red is the ONLY color for a GT, right Andrew?

I just spoke to Howard, the seller. He positively thinks that it's a S4 and not a GT.

I repectfully disagree. Not only do I have what the '90 has, but I also have the shorter more ergonomic shift lever, cooling flaps in front of radiator eliminated, and improved door seals to reduce water dripping on occupants during rainy weather. So I think mine is betterer

That's something I can agree on!
