No NOVA is not far, I'm over by GMU - it's good to know. I may have to take you up on the offer. If I can do the disconnect test on Sunday, I'll let everybody know how I made out.

Thanx... and have a good time with the gang Saturday, if you make it.

I pulled the MAF on Sunday. The car started and ran for about a minute. When I tried to feed it a little fuel it quit and would not restart. I will reinstall the MAF and see if wiggling the plug changes anything. Does anybody have any suggestions where I should look next?

Thanx,

Jerome

Default no acceleration after engine change

Alight im in need of some guidance. The last year's project had involved a built engine block I purchased off of another member. The head was attached and a new super 61 was fitted as well. The car sat for 3 years after a blown headgasket and it had about a 1/2 tank of e85 and premium blended in it. I filed it up with premium and added c foam and Heet water remover. No improvement though, fuel filter looks stock and in the process of changing. I replaced the plugs, wires aren't old in use but have a few frayed points in the outer covering so I'm ordering new ones.

Could the filter cause the car not to accelerate? Many times it won't even idle until letting it sit and try again then it will idle but any attempt to give it gas it backfires and stalls.

Help appreciated

What year/model 928? (or are you talking about a 951?). If its a 928, a range of factors could cause that behaviour, depending on which injection system it has (CIS/K-Jet, L-jet, LH-jet 2.2, LH-jet 2.3?)

THe fuel filter is easy to remove on a 928 - the actual filter, not just the tank strainer as shown in the posts above.

Start a new thread about your car, as people are going to read this and start replying to posts from 2006, instead of noticing that yours is the only new one in here.

No, it's a 944 turbo. 928 isn't a 951 as far as I'm aware.

So its a 951 - I figured it was given your posting history.

You've necro-posted this 10 year old thread in the 928 forum.

You'll find people more familiar with the 944 here:
