We are waiting fro trim pieces for the rear window from Porsche then it will be color matched...

The tach haning on the side is gone because we added a "heads-up" display tach that appears on the window!... Planning on getting that clear piece for the corner lights we just got yesterday, and I just replaced Blacked-out tail lights with stock because stock lights were not bright enough during twilight...

Hi, this car looks great you spent a lot of time doing awesome detail work to the exterior/interior, the colors great, the wheels fit the look, and the body mods all come together well, if it were mine I would treat the gas cap to some body color, if it hasnt been driven more than 25 miles since coming off of the jacks I would do that, then set the ride height, overall the car looks like it is sitting to high, it seems like it would do better if the rear wheels were tucked up under the wheelwells a lil bit more, I think the door handle delete is great as are the GILLS, I hope you can get a cool plate for your ride, I like the hood it makes the car look just a bit more ballsy, cool bro great job enjoy your ride.
To clean the carpet of grease get some NON flammable brake cleaner and a good vacuum cleaner and while spraying onto the greasy areas vacuum up the spray and it will take the grease/dirt right out of the carpet then you can wash it with some carpet cleaner and vacuum it out,. Stan

Thanks for the carpet hint... will finish off the interior next week. The car has not been driven at all since the body work as the roads here are still salty for a month or so. It will be a while before the car settles, then I'll figure out the ride height thing.

I love the GTS style rear wheel wells. How was it done and how long did it take. I've wanted to do this to mine, however, short of buying fiberglass rear quarters I wasn't sure how.

Default Rear wheel wells...

The 19" rear wheels would not clear... I originally wanted more agressive flairs, but Bo Vecsio talked me into matching the front fender shape and making the rear flair much more mild...

They radially cut about the fender wells and reshaped about the top. Then they pulled out the indivdual panels and welded material in the gaps.

They then welded a lip and used that as a mold for body filler. At the same time they had to build a metal rocker panel to replace the plastic unit. The sunroof edges were flattened and then welded to the existing roof, and the molding along the roof line was also filled in with metal. There is very little "filler" on the car except in the area of the gills and hood scoop.

They took two months overall and including new paint, and hand forming the gills, hiding the remote cameras, molding the fuel door, remote opening shaved doors, hiding the marker lights, installing metal grills where teh bumperettes used to be it was less than $20K.

Cool! I really want to see pics of all the electronics and gauges lit up now!! You cant get the full effect without everything lighting and flashing! Is it all wired and ready to light up?

The right camera works fine, the left takes a minute to warm up (most likely something loose) and the middle is not hooked up yet... The heads-up display works fine but I need to read the manual on how to program it...As soon as the interior is done and hooked up (within the next two weeks or so) I'll post pictures.

Malibu - do you have any more pics or info on how your body guy did the rear fenders like that, which IMO, updates the classic lines of the 928 JUST enough to make it stay original but fresh? What bout the B -pillar work at the top?

I think it looks great (except gas cap). Does everyone know how the doors open or am the only one who is not afraid to ask? Please post pictures when you finish it.

Default A few Better Pictures and link to movie....

Here are a few more updated pictures and link to a movie (turn up sound a bit)...

Since the last post I've upgraded the engine with new cam, heads and chip which now has 460HP and 480 Lbs Torque, and upgraded the interior ... still need to rethink the console (too busy)

Incredible video. I love to hear the story behind creations like this. Great job. BTW, I love the rear shape and the smooth shaved lines. The front is a matter of personal preference and not something I would do, but WOW you executed your vision perfectly. Awesome.

The Chevy engines can clear the hood if they use the low deck EFI like as in most modern engines... once you go carbs or like mine the EFI with a Carb-like throttle body to get that look, the hood no longer clears... also it got quite hot under the hood - the cowl induction fixes that problem ... the Holly Air Cleaner with side vents also takes quite a bit of height... otherwise I would have left the hood low. From inside the car you can clearly see the Holly Aire Cleaner and the engine shake which is also very cool. The car gets more attention and thumbs up (I think color helps) than my new Aston.

Also as a note of caution, if anyone is going to shave their doors, use the best kit available and make sure you have multiple options if the poppers quit working. I have a hidden emergency button I had to use tlast week when the low cost receiving unit failed (being replaced by a high cost unit)... I by-passed the system with a direct hot wired emergency switch to get in. If that fails, I can get in through the hatch and pull emergency cables in the side door pockets.
