I beat the odds again. (fuel pump)
155K miles. In-tank pump is perfectly intact and with only a slightly dirty screen. The short hose that joins the pump to the outlet usually breaks before now. It is still pliable.

I don't know what to think. The A/F was all over the map, but fuel pressure was good, so maybe it was wrong to suspect the pump in the first place.

That's what I was expecting to see. I'm on the original steering rack too. How weird is that?
I've run the tank down to fumes a few times and I never refuel until I'm down to the last couple of gallons.

Bill it's all about care. If a car sits long, the fuel tank gets crystallised or sediment, and cheap gas wil do it too. Steering rack, if you keep it running I believe it will be fine.
