Default I beat the odds again. (fuel pump)

155K miles. In-tank pump is perfectly intact and with only a slightly dirty screen. The short hose that joins the pump to the outlet usually breaks before now. It is still pliable.

That's just weird. None of mine have looked that good. Do you run below 1/4 tank very often?

Yes. It looks fine, but it may not be pumping consistently, for all I know. I have the replacement already, and after having gone to the trouble to drain the tank, it seems like the right move.

I had erratic Air/Fuel mixture readings during a recent dyno tuning session:

I don't know what to think. The A/F was all over the map, but fuel pressure was good, so maybe it was wrong to suspect the pump in the first place.

That's what I was expecting to see. I'm on the original steering rack too. How weird is that?

I've run the tank down to fumes a few times and I never refuel until I'm down to the last couple of gallons.

Bill it's all about care. If a car sits long, the fuel tank gets crystallised or sediment, and cheap gas wil do it too. Steering rack, if you keep it running I believe it will be fine.
