Any tip's for a new owner?
Hello everyone, I'm a new owner ( 1988 2 owner car with 88,000 miles ) I'm looking for any tip or web sites that may be of help. I've found a few of them such as

Thanks Guys,
I've found the car on ebay and have gotten it check out and found that it need the converter bearing and torqe tube replaced, it was howiling quite a bit. I also had the timing belt replaced although the records showed that it had been done apox 6,000 mile ago ( looked like it once we got her open). The other things done were to add the new whels and crosss drill the rotors and paint the brake calipers for show. I'm 6'6" and love the fit...

Yes, it has the roof, everythings works, the ac will freeze you out, it even had all of the orginal tools,books and records, it was a very well careed for car. The dash and interior is in great sharpe, no cracks even the rear window sill are not warpped yet. I was dissapointed to find the option sheet in back too faded to read though.

if you join you will be able to search the forum and find MANY other useful sites to peruse
just a couple things:
you did change the waterpump with the tb correct? it is recommended both be done at the same time
as for your option codes, go to your local Pcar dealer and they should be able to get them for you, if not let me know, I can get them for you no problem

Are you going to do your own wrenching? If so make sure you get the complete WSM set. The wiring alone can drive you crazy but if you ever have doubts the people here will help you out.

. Also at 5'18", my cars are without sunroof - glad you fit under one, for I found it a tight squeeze.
Now newbie - listen up!
You mentioned that a convertor/TT job is in the near future. The sequence of refitting the transmission and TT back into the car with respect to the front flex plate is ABSOLUTELY critical. Unless you or your wrench has prior knowledge of this technique, it is all too easy to unduely stress the crank thrust bearing, precipitating its failure. The fix is generally a new engine ..... $$$$$. Lots of data ( and sad stories) in the archives if you are not already aware of this - if you are, all the better.

Every 928 owner should visit the "MASTER INDEX FILE" (see link below) and go to the 928 section. Chances are, they'll see something there of interest, or something they didn't already know about the 928. There are many contributors, and tons of photos and scans.

Congratulations on finding a well cared for low milage car. There are many sharks out there with 200,000 more miles than yours has. My 83 has around 138,000 miles and it's hardly broken in, runs just beautifully, doesn't have a rattle anywhere, and is as tight now as the day it rolled off the assembly line. Naturally, I've had shocks and some other work done on it to maintain the standard of the car, but Porsche pulled out all the stops on this one.
