Roger, I have these Anchor mounts in stock, and I looked at one today, it says " made in india" right on the little sticker, and also says Hydraulic mount on it, also has the two little pins. #2698

Justin, you and John need to get a room
Well if they are hydraulic I guess at $18:00 who cares as I'm happy with the result.
Next time - if there is a next time I will use the solid mounts.
By the way can you beat $18?

Dude, $18?
I just ordered a couple of spares.
Unbeatable price! They are $50 a PIECE at Autozone.

Given the degree of difficult in replacing the mounts...who would want to go to the trouble of installing a third-world country hadraulic mount, even if it is a bit cheaper? I'm not sure the math works.

Fact: None of these mounts have failed so far and if you do the wrenching yourself, this is the best bang for the buck.

Also fact: Original Porsche Motor Mounts do fail and that is confirmed.

Good points. But you still have to ask about the build/component quality of the new stuff vs. the originals that have lasted 10-20 years already. The proof will be in the long term experience. After reading the replacement procedures, I'm not sure I want to tackle the job anytime soon. Someone said they'd gladly pay $500 for someone else to do the job. Another said it was the most difficult, messiest job on the 928, etc. With all that, I'd want SOLID and well built stuff..and I'm not pushing Porsche replacement hydraulic stuff.

For the heck of it, I've ordered a set of Anchors to look them over. At $18 I can always sell them. Or, if I get really, really bored and half-crazy, install them.

Install them and enjoy the unbelievable difference.

It is a lot of wrenching but the worst job? That's sorry BS!

If you attack the project with the right attitude and tools and probably some help it is really worth it.

Harvey,
You obviously did not read my post on this tread about the quality of Indian manufactured goods.
Have you ever been there - I have and there engineering quality is excellent.
They tend to do things better than the US or UK because they know that anything less and nobody will buy.
There operators tend to have degrees in engineering and know what they are doing.
Do not be to quick to bash something you don't have factual evidence to back up.
I have no problem using the anchor mounts if they are from India.
I would lay money down that they are probably better than the USA made units.
Sorry about the rant but we Americans are to quick to diss other nations.

Hey Roger,
I went to the Autozone not to long ago and looked at a new set of Made in India mounts. I was stunned that they are now the same size and shape like the made in USA units!!! Somebody must have figured out that the "old" Made in India units had a different height.

FYI. They looked much nicer than the USA units. They were painted nicely and had no evidence of surface corrosion like the US units. I bought 4 anchor mounts from Rockauto yesterday btw

Just ordered up a set from RA. Can't wait to see how the car feels with new mounts. My engine doesn't move at all so I'm guessing my existing mounts are shot.
