I hope that shark gets 10k but it seems too high with a cassette player and flats and the mileage factored in.

FWIW a black/black 86.5 5-speed car with about the same mileage sold in GB for $13.5 recently. It did have replica cup wheels / new tires.

I agree red...these cars never (thank goodness) go for what they are worth.

The color combo is nice if you like Burgundy. I still believe that P-cars only ought to come in several primary color combinations, but to those who like it a little different...give it hell.

If Mark K vouches for it, I'd believe it's a good deal.

Well considering I paid about the same price, but my Euro had only 57k and had a cassette player. Thats why I'd say with near 100k you'll have to find the right buyer who loves the car.

Pretty much everything works mechanically except the headlight adjusters and 1 switch. Just finished with a new sound system, with a hidden 10' subwoofer in the spare tire well.

Now I want to upgrade the head unit from MP3 to a DVD player with builtin nightvision camera in the front

I'd like to see that setup. Doing the same thing is on my car's to-do list.

Sorry to hi-jack. Perhaps PM me or start a new topic on the hidden sub install?

Thanks.

i didnt know about the borg warner being used on the euros too. well, thats good. but, id rather have the US 85 due to the 300cc more engine. the cams are better, and if you change the timing a tad, the engine comes alive.

i dont know the bests euros out there, but i would think that 280 at the wheels is the top numbers now, and some 85s have more hp with the same mods.

im sure they are both close. sure, the euro is slightly less weight in street form, but both are awesome cars. I like the euro for its simplicity (2valve heads) But, having 300 more cc's to play with is an advantage. i dont think the euro 2 valve heads or intake is any better than the 4 valve heads and intake.
compression is close, so the the 85US does have some advantages. again, both are close, however the US is a US car! (makes things a little easier)

I think its a good deal, but what do I know! however, the reason that i would want it , even though im not a big fan of burgundy, is that the car is so new looking, its unsual. the prior owner was pretty ****, and Aaron is that way too.
I think the only drawbacks is that its had a little rattle (knocking rattling noise) in the passenger side cam area. probably needs a new tensioner. he has been driving that way for the last couple of years. other than that, its perfect.
If i was to bet, i would say this one is 260hp at the rear wheels. feels pretty fast.

Really? You might want to check that. DR said his 85 Euro and GT preform about the same except the Euro has more low end torque. I think we can all agree that a GT is faster than an 85-86.

im sure they are close. the euro was rated at 310hp vs the stock S4 of 312hp, so thats pretty close. main differences was the gearing, and that 15-20hp below the GT's 330hp rating.

i would think the low end torque belongs to any S4 based intake, due to "flappy" I dont use flappy, as it helps around 3300rpm range, and i only race at above 4000rpm at all times. however for street driving, the flappy is comfortable for that torquey feel around town.

no doubt, the euroS in 1985 was even better than the 1982 version with the higher compression and better gear box. but then, so was the 5 liter 85. did the 85 euro S ever get the S4 brakes, like the 1986.5 year US model?

anyway, again, certainly even though the 85 euro was rated at 310hp, it didnt have cats, and the US was cam timed and cat'ted , rated at 290hp. since its not uncommon for our 5 liter 2 valve or 4valve to approach 300 rear wheel hp, i would say both cars are pretty close to the same. I mean, how do you regester a euroS without putting a cat on it? after that, what does it put to the wheels? probably near the 5 liter 85 US i would imagine. just seeing what my car can do with a set of 85 cams, is proof enough. sure, the valves are smaller and compression lower on the 85 vs an S4, but thats about it. what else possibly can be different with the holbert car? compression is not any higher. still seeing 180psi per cylinder. I think the only thing that could be special in the Holbert car engine now, would be some subtle work on the heads, or intake,( but not what i have seen by looking in there!) and maybe a better balanced rotating assembly. still stock computers, MAF and plugs
330HP at the wheels, even after 4 full racing seasons and 15,000 miles of street driving!

man, porsche did this one right!!!! (and that one, and the other one, .....etc)

Except for about 74 'catalyzed' 86s, all 84-86 Euros are 4.7L 310HP. Those 74 Euro S3s have the same or more HP than a US S3, lower compression, different length valves, and I'd suspect the same cam profiles as the Holbert car if they are different than a US S3.
