Default Short Shifter for momo *****...

Hi List,

I know that there are some really nice short shifters available for stock ***** and some adapters and stuff but I decided to have a buddy of mine cut this lever for me to adapt a momo **** to my car. I drew it in solidworks and he cut a few out for me by CNC.

It feels great and has drastically improved my shifting over the stock setup... no slop. It uses the stock bushings...

The momo **** kept coming loose with the other levers but that seems to be fixed now.

I have two short ones and a long one cut... the long one has a shortened angle of throw

Any comments etc... anyone interested in this as a product?

Also I have two extras if someone (especially those local to bay area) wanted to try it out.

please feel free to reply or PM.

I PMed you..

The design is flexible... If there is interest my friend in willing to cut them to any length and also the angle of throw can be lenghtened like the stock one pictured... the ones picture are pretty much as short of throw as you can get...

I was torn between the shorty that I put in my car and the short throw schoolbus shifter...hehehe

Also my friend is interested in new ideas to CNC so if you think something is worth prototyping shoot me a PM.. these guys really are doing this for fun and to keep a small shop in business.. I think we are going to work on some poly V pullys next...

I also have access to NCs at work as well as some old bridgeports and stuff...

He is fun to work with and is willing to do small production runs... as long as I give him electronic designs...

The Devek unit is great for the Stock **** and boot...

I would have used that but wanted to use the momo **** to match the steering wheel... I was looking at a lever on a viper and really liked the burly round shaft and figured it would be great for the momo ***... the shaft is about 0.002" smaller than the ID of the momo *****.

The **** goes on with set screws... It is really a solid fit with no play with the **** or the linkage...

The original short shifters will also accept a momo ****, I would have made them differently if I had to in order to accept both, but I did not have to.

The momo ***** with three setscrews will work just fine on a stock shifter, and a short shifter from the big three. All you have to do is put the two setscrew that are at an angle in almost all the way (evenly) and tighten up the straight screw to lock it in.

I've had one on my track car that was an early prototype, and it has yet to come loose...

If you can operate an allen key, and just look at the bottom of the **** to make sure the 2 angled set screws are in an equal amount, then you just slip it on, adjust the two angled screws until the **** just slips on, and does not wiggle. Then tighten the one straight screw. You're done!

Hope this helps anyone who thought they had to keep their stock shift handle because they had bought a short shifter.

I've tried to attach a pic, I hope it shows up (it does not in the preview)
Your can see the two angled setscrews on the bottom of the pic. (rear of shifter) and the one straight setscrew on the front of the shifter.
