Default Fuel injector cleaning re-mapping

Does anybody out there know of a place that will do fuel injector cleaning and remapping. Think I might try that before buying 8 new injectors (they are a little pricey).

Thanks!

There are a bunch places that do cleaning and calibration for $10-20/injector. This is for the electronic injectors and not the mechanical injectors on CIS cars.

See this thread for more info and links to a bunch of places that do this:

Default Buy new

I bought the ford racing injectors.... from summit.

A set of 8 is like $220.

Probably cheaper than cleaning and flow balancing.

Also the O rings are the same size. I read somewhere that they were not. but I measured them. They are identicle.

If we new your model year we could even make a suggestion on the size of injector.

I don't know if these services alter the flow to balance or match injectors, they just clean them and measure the flow rate.

I highly recommend cruzin performance. I sent mine there a year or so ago and was very pleased. I believe it cost me ~$115 for shipping and everything. You will also get the before and after results. Here is a link to the results of mine so you can check out all of the tests that they run. As you can see, one of the injectors was completely stuck shut. This is what happens when your car sits for 10+ years with gas in it. Click here!

Ford injectors are pretty clickety-noisy.

Although none of the ones we list here or in the thread I linked provide matched sets in their cleaning service, almost everyone ends up with injectors flowing within a few % of each other, like airosey reported.

.... but they are all Bosch in the sizes we need: all the newer ones ( Design II or III) use a 4-port outlet with a rotating disc valve vs a single port with a pintle valve ( the tappety -tappety kind ).

Hey Chief,

Have you used these guys before?....I've used Cruzin in the past with good results, but these guys are literally in our backyard...would be nice to stop by and chat with them if they do good work...

Thanks,
Tom

Loren,

I installed a set of 30# Ford Motorsport injectors, part #M-9593-B302.

The port side o-ring measured 14.5mm O.D., which was too small for the port on the manifold (15mm, if I remember correctly).

I removed the small o-ring and backup washer, and installed a 17mm O.D. x 8mm I.D o-ring.

P.M. me if anyone needs any.

Is there any benefit to installing the ford injectors. I realize that they would be much cheaper than trying to buy new OEM injectors. But is there any reason to go Ford?

Default Ford injectors

I measure the o rings with a set of calipers and the o rings seemed to be within the "squish tolerance" i.e the squish of the o rings seemed to account for more error in the read than the difference is there was any..

but maybe the 30 lbs came with a different one. All I know is mine work fine as is ... no fuel leak or anything or signs of a intake leak.

Mine were 24 lbs.

The bosch oring kits are like 8 bucks each. I tried to get the o rings off to take a closer look but gave up... the little orange cap seemed to be on there too tight... I did not want to perturb anything.

I do beleive that the ford ones are meant to be exact replacements for the bosch units. Thanks god.

As far as being clickety.... did't notice.... maybe my engine has to o many other clicketies to notice.

Kraut-

I see you are in Irvine. Here is the post info from a few years ago.

Hi everyone-

I thought I would share an additional source for fuel injection components including the MAF for our 928's. I have an '87 and replaced the MAF back to OEM specs for $195US. They apparently also do LH rebuilds for a good price - around $300. I have not used them (yet) for the ECU rebuild however. They are professional and specialize in all fuel injection components including injectors, ECU's, MAF's and more than I can mention here.

Their contact info is:

BRET instuments Inc.
1701 E. Edinger Ave., Ste. E-1
Santa Ana, CA 92705
