Default New Years Day SOCAL Run

New Years Day/Sunday=Open Roads

The thought was sparked by another run happening deep down in OC, but we will be running up in LA County. We thought we would take advantage of the opportunity of no one being out on the roads. The tentative idea at the moment is to run Angeles Crest from the 210 to the 14. We would end up in Agua Dulce for lunch at the airfield there. We are hoping to to be able to run on one of the runways he he he NO guarantee though!

So if anyone wants to join in, shout out. We are thinking of meeting around 9 or 10am in the morning.

What run in OC are you talking about? Because there is one in North Hollywood as well.

I'd join you Keith but a) I am 2k miles away and b) it's raining here and c) we get only a couple of hours of daylight a day. Got Porsches, got no roads

Bah! 17 hours and you could be in scenic SoCal.

Brendan- http://www.bench-racing.com/html/event_calendar.html
They are leaving from Crystal Cove.

As for the SOCAL Run, local predictions for the weather are certainly not on the side of a spirited run through the canyons. They say if you don't like the weather in so Cal, stick around 10 minutes, but this seems not to be the case. 2 major storms preceeded by thrashing coastal waves are on tap for the next 3-4 days last I heard. We will be looking at the weather on Saturday. Even if it rains Saturday and is Sunny on Sunday, water tends to travel down hillsides carrying rocks and such onto the road surface making canyon driving out of the question!

Never the less, we will postpose this drive to later in the month. Blasting down an airport runway kinda speaks to me!
