Yes, most definitely -- I was just commenting on this to Robin as she stepped out of the shower and illustrated one of the advantages of keeping the thermostat turned down...

Part of the reason may be found in the 968 (944s, etc) design which have two belts...one being a weaker balance belt...and when it breaks it too often gets tangled in the TBelt causing it to break.
