Santa came and now I'm in big trouble...
The goods news is that I bought another 928 today. The bad news is that my girlfriend doesn't know yet, and I'm pretty sure she had plans for that money. The thing is that I've been working two jobs, 70 hour weeks, since June, and she didn't get me anything for Christmas last year, so...
I have to pick her up at the airport tomorrow night. The question now is, how do I break the news? Should I pick her up at the airport with the 928? It will be dark, so if park the other cars right, she might not even see it in the driveway when we get home. She WILL hear it when I leave for work the next day..
Oh well, better to apologize, asking permission would never work.

Go to the airport in the new 928. If she fusses, ask if she'd prefer walking.

Merry Christmas, John and a Happy New Year. This is the one that was listed here about a month ago outside an airplane hanger isn't it?

1st things first - beautiful shark - more info on it please!
2nd - she is the girlfriend, not the wife. You DEFINITELY don't want to get into the mode where you are sheepish about making purchases for yourself if you aren't even married, regardless of what they are. Go pick her up in the 928, and if she gives you any beef about it I would say you have a pretty good indicator of what a future wife she would be!

I would also add that you helped her pick out your last years Chrismas present
(the new car) the one is a year late, and you wanted to let her know what parts you wanted her to buy for it for this Christmas!
If she truly deserves to make decisions with that amount of money , she'd better have alot of things she does to earn it besides a career.

Hey, take some advice from someone who knows. If she thinks your hobby or interests are silly, it will never work. My ex-wife got to the point to where she would not even ride in the 928 because it had to be towed once or twice. Nothing was ever enough for that woman or her GLV (if you can figure that one out big points to you). People ask me how big the ring was and I tell them two carats too many! If you feel you have to justify what you want to do or what you like to do you need to re-think your situation. I feel your pain..figuratively, not literally of course. The gal I live with now is happy to ride in anything I choose...she just happens to be of the 4-legged variety. I'd rather clean up her *hit (literally) than listen to a whiney, can't be pleased woman ever again. Seems like these types are growing in popularity these days. What ever happened to gals who are just happy to spend time with you, regardless of what or how you do things?
Of course the above is written by someone who might be just a tad bit bitter after being dragged through the mud for 4 years and finally crapped on.
Now I enjoy my 928s in peace. I believe your issue at hand is one regarding control. Been there and done that, won't do it again.
