I vote for pick her up in the car and remind her that she is the GIRLFRIEND...not the wife....if she bitches too much..... show her where the door handle is on the 928 and hope she has good walking shoes! :>)

Easy for me to say since I have a tolerant wife! She lets me spend time and $$$ on the 928 & doesn't complain much! Of course its easy for me since she is very busy 99% of the time in Pharmacy school!

Actually, around here in the GYN business, we call that type of woman a PP.

The first "P" stands for platinum.

I gotta go with the majority here.....My bride insisted that I buy the C4 for myself, that was the year after she insisted that I had to have that Harley I lusted after......Then she told me last year that she thought I should buy the TR6 I alwways wanted......all the while insisting that Gretch not lose her place at the top of my most prized posessions.....even to the point of giving up her garage bay for one of the above.

As a show of appreciation, I renovated one of my barns for car storage and she has her garage bay back again.

Sooooooo.......in this instance I recommend you re-evaluate the qualification standards for "girlfriend"......cause if you are like the rest of us....you are not gonna get over your "sickness" any time soon.....

I hope YOU have a merry Christmas........(oh, yeah and the car(s) too......

Seeing how John has not posted any reply since he started this thread, I am thinking either

A) the comments hit too close to home,
B) he is selling the new 928 because his girlfriend made him,
C) he is in a drunken stupor because he just split from the girlfriend
D) he is humbled by our vast experience and knowledge and is taking time to evaluate his life

All of the above.

First off, John already knew the answer to his post.

I think my initials could be PW, not JW.

That being said, I did already by the car...

Yep, I did that very thing with a live-in GF once. I bought a toy (914), she didn't approve, and one day while she was riding along, complaining about 'only two seats', crappy ride, blah blah', I just pulled over, stepped to the curb, opened her door, and said "see ya!". In my mind I called her a bitch, but it didn't come out of my mouth. Oh man,,,that felt good!

My wife has to be tolerant of all the goofy cars I collect. when we went to get the 928, it looked pretty ratty, but she just started haggling with the place, and we grabbed it on the spot. Never regretted it. Roger's wife is even more forgiving, although I think she's about reached the limit now.

My ex-wife got to the point to where she would not even ride in the 928 because it had to be towed once or twice. Nothing was ever enough for that woman or her GLV (if you can figure that one out big points to you). People ask me how big the ring was and I tell them two carats too many! If you feel you have to justify what you want to do or what you like to do you need to re-think your situation. I feel your pain..figuratively, not literally of course. The gal I live with now is happy to ride in anything I choose...she just happens to be of the 4-legged variety. I'd rather clean up her *hit (literally) than listen to a whiney, can't be pleased woman ever again. Seems like these types are growing in popularity these days. What ever happened to gals who are just happy to spend time with you, regardless of what or how you do things?

Of course the above is written by someone who might be just a tad bit bitter after being dragged through the mud for 4 years and finally crapped on.

Now I enjoy my 928s in peace. I believe your issue at hand is one regarding control. Been there and done that, won't do it again.

John - we are just giving you a hard time...i think you really need to test the waters of this relationship and go get a GTS(while keeping the rest of your burgeoning collection) - then you will see what she is really tolerant of!

Buy as many as you want. Just keep them all the same color and keep them apart.
