928 #20 on ebay
WOW another EARLY car for my list, too bad it's in Germany
but the current bid status should give us an indication of the increase in value of the early cars over the last couple years

Are you sure they were added? Look at the front bumper, there are cutouts for the brake ducts. If it had not been fitted with spoilers, these cutouts would not be there... of course unless the PO cut them.

If it is a '77, it looks like it was 'updated' with the Competition Group at some point.
Spoilers, dish wheels, rub strips(?), passenger mirror(?), 928 decal, Anza exhaust, later wiper arm
"This vehicle it is yet gives reads is went was constructed was probable the oldest 928, that the Fahrgestellnr 928,810,0020. it therefore the 20th vehicle of this series that 1978 in series this vehicle 1977 as a trial vehicle !!!auf Ing h. c. already over 5K euros, not a bad price and 2 hours to go.
BTW, I thought porsche VIN numbers for production cars always started at a higher number, like 000051?

First registration was February 10, 1977 - that is even before the 928 was first presented at the Geneva auto show.
It is not unusual for Porsches to be upgraded, and given that it was owned by a race car driver, I'm not surprised to find the spoilers on it. As sad as it is...
I'd like to see some detail pictures - lots of them, if possible!

For these early cars there were probably many more ROW model protos using VIN's 0001-0050 than in later years. Less so for US and especially for Japanise models. I think first 10 or 20 cars were made on single spot outside normal production line when production line work was rehearsed with them. AFAIK these were done in early February '77. This could be one of those cars or very first one to come from normal line between 911's.

VINs 50-60 were reserved for special cars, says Jörg Austen in his book...
