Ah CiS...always likes to 'tickle you back' whenever its provoked...even if your intentions are pure. Mine hadn't started for a few days...no changes, ran fine last night. Prior to the chronic no-start, it would run for various amounts of time raning from 5 sec to 15 min, then die. Go figure.

Had the same problem on my 911. I jumped the pump and let it run for 10 seconds. Started right up when I cranked...coughed a few times for the first minute....and now it runs just fine with no problems. Plenty of Berryman's oil in the tank now in order to clean things up and prevent recurrence too soon

Ok, I will try FBII's method, when adjusting the screw, should I try to do it so that the air plate is in resting position, or does it not matter? IIRC, adjusting the screw puts some down force on the air sensor plate. Thanks everyone!

why not limit the variables and try my method first? it's essentially the same thing but without messing with any adjustments. If it doesn't work, then you can move on with changing adjustments.

The fuel system should pressurize when you raise the plate while the fuel pump is running. You will feel some resistance building up when you lift it.

Well, let me start off by thanking everyone for their help!
Leason Learned: RTFM! I was pressing too hard on the adjustment screw so the little thingie wasnt seating and I was just turning air. The screw was actually turned all the way left! I pulled the plugs, cleaned them, replaced, recheked and tweaked distributor timing, pulled fuel pump relay and crank the engine, which actually started and ran for a few secs, probably from all that fuel. Did that a few times till it would not fire. Then I jumpered the fuel pump and turned adjustment screw CORRECTLY until I heard the injectors. It sounded more like someone opening up a faucet more than a squeal, but whatever. Then turned half turn left and replaced fp relay. I turned the key and the car fired right away, and it ran, albeit a little rough!!!! I got out and walked to the engine only to find......
SOMETHING POURING ON THE GROUND LIKE A RIVER!!!!! I touched it and it smelled like coolant! I ran and shut the engine down right away as thoughts of valves smashing into pistons ran through my brain. I appearantly have a huge leak somewhere on the passanger's side. I couldnt get a good look at it since it was (is) dark and I freaked. It looked for a second like it was coming out of the dipstick tube, but it was actually bouncing off of it. It looked like it was from somewhere near the tensioner. I actually noticed that my coolant reservior had a small crack near the thing that holds the cap, so I fixed it with JB Weld. A few days later I went to check on it and I opened the cap and found the reservior empty. It was getting cold at the time, so I thought maybe thats why. I guess the coolant system wasnt holding any pressure from the crack and now that it is fixed it blew a leak somewhere! I pray that I just sliced a hose by accident. I know it cant be the head gasket since I replaced that less than a year ago and I barely put any miles on the car since. Worst case it is the water pump, which wouldnt be so bad, since I kinda needed to do that anyway. I'll try to find out tomorrow what it was. Thanks again everyone! Borys.

Do yourself a favor and ASSUME that some coolant got into the oil through the dipstick and change your oil before you start your car.

Wow Borys, maybe your shark is telling you to back off and go enjoy some eggnog for a while...

Do check the hoses, hopefully one of them just loosened up...

with the vacume plugs off the size of the holes wil not keep the car from starting but will run lean mainly by reducing air velocity and having a lesser efect on air sensor plate

Yeah Dave, I hope that's the case, or maybe I accidentally burned a hole in one the hoses when I was soldering. I hope the water pump didnt blow a seal, or worse, the HEAD! Can that happen actually, the head gasket pouring out water? I dont think so since I tourqed it down properly with the correct sequence. I guess due to that crack in the reservior my coolant wasnt pressurising fully, and since I fixed that it now pressurized and blew a seal? Or maybe I just sliced a hose....step away from the computer and breathe.........

Yeah, just relax and take it slow. Yes, the head gasket is holding water in around the outer edge of the head. It's possible that water is leaking past the head gasket but very unlikely. Your best bet is to get a pressure tester, pressurize it to the correct pressure, and check carefully.
