Yeah, you just can't beat 1+ bar with that open deck design.

Perfect.

It is controvesial because it also involves gearing and aerodynamics.

It depends on the size of the turbo unit. With a big-azzed turbo well over 1000hp can be gotten from a single turbo design, even at relatively low boost levels.

Yes, those do matter. However, instead of your first week of intro to physics, you are dealing with information you learned in week four of physics 101.

You mean block grout? I can still do this as I haven't put the pistons in yet.

hello ,
Mark@devek if the car is producing 585whp at 1 bar how much @.5?
do the math . If the car is making 151 mph in 1/4 do the math .

This is what we see with our conversions.

what;s the point ? that the v8 torque is good , of course and that is what v8 guy's like , does not make for a faster car just one that you like. We are straying here !

Just a thought to say that i believe that the S4 potential is untapped.

We agree completely. It is about having the car we like. With a tiny little $$$ constraint, of course.

A correctly done twin turbo kit & install should cost over $10k. We all would really like that! This single turbo set up that we are looking at here falls into the affordable category and addresses a performance improvement that can be enjoyed on a daily basis. It was purposefully designed for simplicity, not HP record setting. I was just providing an example of why we may like low end torque so much. If you downshift, you are engaging in racing. Many of us are subtle in this respect.

If you can sell me a reliable 600hp turbo kit for my 32v for under $5k, that would be swell. But it is a common perception is that such an animal would trap way too much heat under the 928 hood. Simplicity looks good in more ways than one.

I do agree with you though.

cant remember if I passed that one...

Jim - you didn't happen to catch the lengthy debate/argument on gearing did you? I was sorta kidding with that remark.

Yes but they close those decks, put in iron sleeves, or do something else that we are still figuring out for our blocks.
