My guess is that when his dog was shot by the Police during the shoot out that's what triggered his thought to kill himself.
It's a damn sad story from beginning to end. I feel especially bad for the kid as I was involved on the sidelines during his adventures here and ultimately was the one who banned him after he screwed Bigs over.

A sad end to his story.

Holy Crap. I totally missed this tidbit on Ross. I treated him to supper on his trip across the country all those years ago, but the encounter was short. I could tell he was a bit of a troubled kid, but no idea he was headed anywhere close to that kind of ending.

Hey, so im whitefox's brother. I made a post on another thread i believe but IDK what happened to it. I was living in seattle and ran into kai when i wrecked my yamaha SR400 and he ended up storing it for me. So when kai came over he noticed i had the same last name. Turned out he was the dude my brother traded his 928 towards that GSXR. I can shed a lot of light on the kind of guy he really was and what really went down with those who care...

So yeah, that would be cool, he had some good qualities, its hard on a forum to identify at risk individuals, and then to reach them seems insurmountable at times....

I wish i could say it was drugs but honestly man he was always kind of out for only himself. He would rip people off before he ever got hooked on opiates or stuff like that.

Short version - he screwed over a guy who tried to help him. For several hundred bucks. For no real reason.
Slightly longer version - He was taking a cross country trip and had asked for places to stay on the way. A number of folks on here helped him out. At one place, he asked his host if he knew where he could find some "Oxies".The host was then very uncomfortable allowing an active opioid addict to stay in his house (understandably). But the host felt responsible, because he had offered a place to stay. So the host paid for a hotel room.It was a non-smoking room that Whitefox then smoked in. Which resulted in a hefty 'cleaning bill' that was added to the host's credit card.
At least that's what the host said happened. No proof that it's true, but no reason to believe that it isn't.
It's on here somewhere.
