Default Shift Indicator bulb

Can anyone confirm the part number for the Auto Gear Indicator bulb in the instrument pod before I order as I'm not convinced i've got the correct one (999 631 019 90? or 999 631 102 90? or 999 631 027 90?).

The bulb is standard. It's not Porsche specific. You can get one at any auto parts store. Pull the bulb out of its socket and match it up. I think they are $0.99 for 2.

Are you talking about the hard-wired bulbs?

I've no idea till I pull the pod, My "D" light has not worked for a while so I figure I might as well get it sorted.

I just did this last week to replace a burned out "D" indicator bulb on an 88 S4. I used Radio Shack 272-1154 as indicated above, which are 50ma, and they are a perfect replacement for the stock bulbs. Here's some pics and comments from the job to supplement this thread and the Nichols tip.
