Default Colors

Is there a list somewhere that shows the Ext/Int color combinations that was available for Model Year 1991?

Also does anyone have a list of how many of each color was available?

Color Code and Material Sample book lists each possibility with code #s
I doubt even Porsche knows how many of each they made

Possible interiors are harder to find. Basically only period brochures have that info. Also more specific production data like how many of each color were made is very difficult to come by. There's not even consensus on how many 928's were made all together.

EDIT: Damn Rixter, you were fast.

I'd suggest looking at the 928 registry where the extrerior/interior colors are posted. It won't give you exactly what you're looking for, but you'll get an idea.

Have you seen a lot of Venetian Blue 928's at any of your gatherings?

I know everybody likes Guards Red and black but just wondering about the blues?

Official Standard Exterior Colors in 91:

- black
- guards red
- grand prix white
- maritime blue (never seen in US)
- signal green (never seen in US)
- mint green (never seen in US)
- rubystone red (seen once in US - burned parts car at 928 intl)

Official Metallic Exterior Colors in 91:

- black metallic
- amazon green metallic
- amethyst metallic
- slate grey metallic
- horizon blue metallic
- polar silver metallic
- midnight blue metallic
- cobalt blue metallic
- oak green metallic
- coral red metallic

Official Standard Interior Colors in 91:

- black
- cobalt blue
- light grey
- magenta
- cashmere beige
- classic grey

Special leather Interior Colors in 91:

- sherwood green
- carrara grey
- matador red

Note that Porsche offers the option of ordering colors from previous model years. I have seen a few 91 models in venetian blue - I suspect that the cobalt blue was a little too daring for the US market...

Hope this helps.

Nicole,

Would you happen to know where I could get a pic or sample of carrara grey? I am still trying to match my interior.

Thanks,

Cameron

When did Guardsman Red change to Guards Red?

Is this a reference to the English Guards?

Look at the colors Nicole listed, then check them here:
http://www.landsharkoz.com/colourstart.htm
Some of the colors are not well represented and at least one (not a 91 color) is wrong, but you'll get a better idea of the colors.

Chiffon White is clearly the best exterior color.
