i think it would be cool to turn our lights on and not have them deployed. might scare some pilots or birds.

Disconnect the wire from the relay to the headlight motor and that's what you get.

It's only a single-sump SV (must be one of the first few). If I was going to spend the money for an SV I'd hold out for a later dual-sump one so you can drive it like it was meant to be. Also not sure if I like the (fuel fill?) sticking thru the hood. Other than that, I'd buy it.

The Miura ended at 405K but didn't reach its reserve.

I'll take the single sump version anytime. It's not the bane it was made out to be. The real culprit of early failures of the single sump cars turned out to be a sacrificial idler gear on the starter bendix that dropped material into the sump. since it was non-ferrous the plug magnet didn't get it, and it swirled around in there before being picked up by the pump and filtered.

The single sump cars are fine, and have some advantages like not blowing out the axle seals(doubled). The other major problem with all Muira's is that they sit. As noted in the ebay, 2800Km in 13 years. Like anything else, the parts were made to move, and when they sit, sludge builds up on components, dry rot, and then hydroscopic absorption in other times cause significant problems.

Last night I was in a garage in SF with three Muira's, one 400GT, two Ferrari 350s, a 275, an early Mini and a Pristine Datsun 2000 5 speed. When I left, I had no saliva, drooled it all out......
