Not easy because it's under 25 years old. That would be an awesome car to bring in if you were going to go through the effort.

Tom
If you are seriously interested, a 928 rennlister lives only 10 mins away( I'm only 40 mins away) from it if you wanted somebody to have a look for you. We could also help with collection/shipping if you needed it.

I was told 25 by a guy who has a garage full of british cars he has imported.

This is from a Rover site:
http://www.fourfold.org/LR_FAQ/FAQ.5.Customs.html
4. IMPORTING MOTOR VEHICLES

In general terms, currently the United States operates with a 25 year rule for the import of motor vehicles. The 25 years is from the date of manufacture to the current date, not on a generic year basis. Basically, those Series III's, D90's, 1 10's et cetera that you have a hankering for cannot be imported.
Here is the DOT code:
http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/w...v5_04.html#501

The NHTSA website about importing:
http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/

I do live only five/ten mins away (if Martin was thinking of me), but I've never seen this car or heard much about it. Not sure I'd be very good at spotting issues, I'm always amazed at what you guys can spot from just a few pictures on a "What's wrong with this?" thread!

Even so, I've asked the seller if he's showing the car this weekend (no daylight to view on weekdays). I can take/post pictures anyone makes a specific request.

Yeah, it's 25 years. I'm waiting another year so I can bring in a UniMOG.
