I can only get maybe 1/3 of that before the tires hook up and that's with LSD.
Yes, no LSD, stock wheels. I'm sure it would be MUCH shorter with an LSD. Still, not bad for a modest SC kit. The nice thing, from this perspective, about the Eatons and the twinscrews is the low-end torque, especially with a stock exhaust. The guys in the 400+HP club don't have that much more torque at 2500 RPM than I do, and some have less.

It was a pleasure to meet and share this experience with everyone. Thanks to Keith and all of the organizers/sponsors. I must now find a red S4 5 spd.

It's Monday evening, and we made it home safely, and without any serious technical problems...

Thank you very much, Keith, Dan, Jennifer, Mark and everybody else involved in making this great weekend happen! It was great to attend another 928 "family gathering" so perfectly organized.

Thanks to all of you who stopped by my vendor table to see - and in many cases purchase - the goodies from my store. That kept my busy and out of trouble...

Thanks to my wonderful friend Ruby who helped me at the vendor table and started to get hooked on the 928 this weekend. For the first time in her life did she drive a shark on Friday, exceeded 100mph within the first five minutes and got increasingly acquainted with the beast.

She learned a lot about about the different types of 928s and enjoyed the great company of "the gang" - thank you guys for making her feel so welcome!

We stopped in Santa Barbara and took our time for the way home today. She drove the shark again on the way back from San Luis Obispo to Monterey and started getting the hang of driving it in the twisties...

Thanks Dr. Bob for your hints on how to get to the event faster by takingi 210 and then 57, and for keeping Ruby warm on Saturday by lending her your jacket!

Thanks Bill Swift and Joe Privitelli for taking pictures; Bill also for bringing us lunch to the vendor table; Joe also for giving Ruby an awesome ride on Sunday!

Thanks Stan for giving me the opportunity to drive the most unique factory customized 928 I know of. I can't tell you how happy I am that it is in such good hands! Please do keep it up, and bring your fiance to future events - hope she will eventually realize what a gem you have there!

Thanks everybody not mentioned here who helped make this weekend wonder- and successful!!! I hope we can do it all again next year!

I lOVE the colors in those night shots of the cars, especially the one with the green grass. Very cool!

Well maybe not every 3.09, but I do need every sport seat.

Sounds like STF was a hit, congrats. I do have one idea for you...mount some seats in the back of the 928 pickup, like the old Suburu Brats.

Can you imagine the 928 Pickup with Subie Brat rear facing seats.
Strap unwilling passenger in. Duct tape video camera to said passenger's hand.
Then go for one of those 928 fun-runs.
That'll be some wild footage.
Like'em tailgunner cams on the B-17's.

Finally getting around to posting a few pics.... I just started a new job yesterday, haven't had time to update here.

Thanks to all, Mark A, Keith, Dan, Jennifer, all who made this event possible -- and thanks to all of the participants for making it so enjoyable!

Here are a few of the better pics for now... note that the hotel seems to be used to catering to Porsche lovers, as evidenced by the cover on the OC guide book...

Also, the last pic is a place that I'm glad I didn't have to go...

I heard about the big block with 928 heads!! So it is real...I wonder what the HP looked like with 550ftlbs at only 2500rpm? It had to make at least 550hp too? That would make an interesting engine conversion for someone with a big block dream!

It's real alright.... but I have to say, when he took off and hammered it, it didn't look anywhere near as stable as any of the SC sharks doing burnouts...
