Default Passenger Window Smashed In

Grr.. okay, venting... went downstairs to the parkade to look at my car a few hours ago and there's a water bottle on top of it... took a closer look and glass everywhere. Some bastard decided to smash in my passenger window and rummage through my empty glove compartment and center console thing... thanks to that ******* who ended up stealing nothing, I have to pay a $300 deductible to get the window and the scratches on my passenger side fixed... I doubt the list of places the insurance company sent me will do a super job at matching the scratched paint... and of course it comes at one of the busier times for me and one of those times where I really don't have extra cash to spend for something like this... bleh...
Anyone know of a good place in the Vancouver, BC Canada area that ICBC will cover to do glass/paint work etc? I heard about a place called Korva but it's not on the list... Burrard Autostrasse is but I dunno anything about em...

pass window you can do yourself in under an hour... not sure how bad your scratches are, maybe they'll buff out...
and you did say a water bottle on the car? did you turn it over to the cops?

Why? Cops can buy their own dam water! Korva should be fine for this. I've had them replace my windsheild as an ICBC claim. Burrard Autostrasse does top notch work and does most of the high end work for the Porsche, Lambo, etc., dealers. But you may have to wait a while to get them to do it, if at all. Talk to Andy at Scan, or Bob V.(you bought your car from Bob, right?) for where they're getting their body work done. Sorry about the window,'Dude.

Hmm, haven't slept yet and Burrard Autostrasse is open... apparently they do a lot of work for Weissach so let's hope this goes well... and hopefully they can get a new window in because having the parts available is a biggy i guess...
The cops wouldn't come by unless there's signs of break-in at the parkade... i checked all the security doors and gates etc... nuthin... so someone must've followed somebody in or an inside job... security sucks when other residents don't care... what kinda pisses me off more is the fact when I was going through the parkade checking the doors, none of the other cars were broken into, just mine...
Hmm, the paint scratches are minor (if i recall)... ie, glass chips and stuff... hopefully they can make it look as good as new like before without too much effort... I'm just hoping the leather inside wasn't messed up by the shattered glass... I couldn't really see any damages to the seat but they were in excellent shape so I should be able to tell if i have a closer look... <sigh> damnit, is it the weekend yet?

At least you've got a killer avatar. Hopefully you've met her, and still know her.

-You know, for some reason I always thought that car insurance automatically covered all the windows, and that there is no deductible for these. Or is that true of the windshield only?

N?

Only if you opt-in for the "free Glass" coverage which casts you a few buck more in premiums.

I think here, this is covered under the "Comprehensive" (theft, vandalism, burning to groung due to fuel leak, etc.) portion of our insurance and has a deductible that varies depending on how big a premium you want to pay. I think the windsheild is a separate issue.

I pulled my driver's window when I replaced all the door seals. Took an afternoon and wasn't very tough. Don't be afraid to try this one yourself. just take your time.

Now the scratches might be more of a pain...

I, too, thought that - until some one smashed the rear window of my 89 Ford Probe. The glass was estimated at $1200+, and the deductible was $1000 - that's the deductible I had on comprehensive. Since then I carry a lower deductible for glass. A hard lesson learned...
