What does this button do?
Today I discovered a small metal pushbutton under the dash. I have no idea what it does. Does anybody else have this? I'm not referring to the intense washer fluid button, it's lower than that. Hopefully the picture helps a little.[IMG]

It's probably not stock......... I have a 1987 Euro (ROW) and this button is not present.
An easy way to determine this is to drop the parcel tray enough to see the wires and switch plug. Non-stock wiring is pretty obvious.

Probably for a PO-installed device like an after-market alarm disabler, or maybe wired to a garage door opener stuck under the dash or something.
Or maybe an after-market ejection seat trigger.
Or, if it's push-on/push-off, maybe a PKS (parallel kickdown switch).

I didn't notice anything happen when I pushed it. Although I didn't look in my rearview mirror
I'll have to try pushing it when my alarm is going off. That sounds like a good possibility.
I was actually installing a kickdown switch when I noticed it. I didn't see any other wires in that area, so I don't think it's another kickdown. Plus, it's not a push-on, push-off type button, it's just a push.
Maybe it's a nitro button that I never knew I had

Many aftermarket alarms have a button like this to disable the alarm when pushed at the same time you turn the ignition on. It's there in case the batteries in your keychain transmitter go out...
