Default rare 85/86 intake tubes (for sale)

We just got in a set of good used 85/86 intake tubes. These are no longer available and it is rare to see good used ones.
$60

Supply and demand would be my guess. Since they only fit 2 years and they are different right to left I imagine sales were not brisk.

It be like fitting a two inch pipe through a one inch hole.

The horns of the air cleaner top are farther apart and smaller diameter to clear the big wide intake used on the 32 valve 85-86 engine. So the tubes are smaller diameter ! and the larger regular tubes do not fit or seal well.

Has anyone ever tried dual cold-air intakes in place of the tubes? Would they even work?
