Default New Addition to the Family

Well, my wife and I have been trying to add to our family for some months now with no luck. We talked about it and decided adoption would be the only way for us to go. Saturday we went to meet and pick up our new daughter. We thank Marc & Susan at Devek for coming down on a Saturday to supervise the initial meeting. She was born in 1988 and has had a pretty pampered life I'm told. I thought I'd post some photos after she got complete bath and cleaning. I got all of the options I wanted except side molding delete. She is very happy to be in the mountains now and likes the cooler weather. She is looking forward to a long winters nap.

The options on the car are C02 / 018 / 139 / 220 / 302 /340 / 418 / 474 / 481/ 494 / 533 / 650 . I know what everything is except the option 302. I can't find it listed anywhere. Does anyone know what this option is? The car color is Diamont Blau with burgandy interior.

The car has an interesting list of owners and as close as I can tell I am the fifth one. Notable previous owners include Marc Anderson and Seth W (Mr. Clean with the red 89GT). She has 119,000 miles and looks pretty good for the mileage. Some rock chips on the front and very minor paint flaws. A couple of minor mechanical repairs are in order to make her complete.

Thanks for listening to a proud Papa. I guess I should her add to my signature.

Nice Tim!! I bought the 930 Sport Steering wheel that Seth had originally bought to put in that car. They are available through 928 Specailists and are a worthy upgrade!!

Congrats!

Wow, so you bought an ex-Seth car.....nice. You understand of course, that it CAN NOT be driven in the winter, probably not even in the rain.....Did it come with an instruction manual on how to keep it so clean?

Congratulations!!!

Glad to hear it is with a wonderful new owner. The first time I went to look at that car I wanted to take it for a test drive but the skies looked ominous and the owner didn't want to risk the car being out in the rain. Can't say I blame him as it was as close to perfect as I had seen in some time. It was at that moment I decided to buy it and come back the next sunny day to finish the transaction. For the 2 years or so the only thing it needed was a few oil changes. I then sold it to Ronn Gottschalk (928 Intl employee) and the only non maintance item it ever required was a thermostat. I can only hope that it continues to be as great a car for you.

Richard,

No cleaning instructions but I have all of the Service records in a binder back to Jan of 2002. Kind of neat seeing that I'm not the only one that spends money on their car.

Did anybody pick up on the option code 302, what is it?

Mark,

Thanks for the additional info on the car!!

Option Code 302 = Seth Car

I think Nicole is the keeper of all option codes, I'm sure she will know.

Nice! According to my list option 302 is: "Type designated on rear end" You most likely lost that when it got the upgrade to the GTS bumper cover.

I am quite familiar with that car - the last owner was very local to me.

I remember Mark Anderson telling us that his kids called the car "precious" - right, Mark, that was this car?

I dread to see this beauty torn apart for race related modifications. But I trust that if Tim does it, it will be done with style... Congratulations!!!

Yes, Option Code 302=Obsessive Compulsive Disorder/Toothbrush cleaning and--well it goes on.

That car was loved like few others. The binder has every dollar spent on it--and it was a lot! She was a champ for me, and I missed seeing her go--only for the Red GT of my dreams did we part. Steve Smith is nearly as OCD as me, so she has had a good few years.

One think that I love about that car is the radio, it still scrolls Mark Anderson's name when it goes on, very funny little "history" to it.

I pulled the entire interior of that car out of it. I dynomatted the whole thing, then I had the 3/4 panels recovered, then I marinated the interior in leatherique for a week and then hand buffed the seats for 2 days. I cannot begin to tell you the number of hours of sweat equity in that car!

I hope she is good to you too. I had 10k miles on that car. She needed a timing belt and water pump while in my stable, but she let me know it was time!

Congrats,

Seth

Gee, I guess you are no longer interested in our race car project...

Looks REALLY nice, are you sure you want to race that one?
