New intake hoses installed.
Rather than update my prior thread on intake hoses, I thought posing pictures would be better. I did have to buy a minimum of 25 feet and have about 20 feet left.

This is Flexadux T-7 duct hose, 80mm inside diameter. I used the original hose ends that connect to the airbox cover and the front piece.

I think the hose looks great and should hold up very well. The insides are relatively smooth.

Alan, yes, I used the original hose ends. The i.d. of the hose is 80mm, just over 3 inches. Really a good fit.
Gman, I believe the hose is also available in basis black. I chose the yellow rub strip to match the yellow spark plug wires and brake calipers.

Bill,
Looks very sharp on your engine - yellow accessorizing - it looks 110% better than the fuzzy hoses - your old ones look better than mine... I just ordered some replacements - I think the originals are unacceptable quality esp. at their price. I have ordered some basic black versions of a similar neoprene covered hose. Is this one rated for appropriate vacuum & temps? Looks like it has a wire coil support. The one I ordered can be ordered in 1foot increments but at a higher price/ft than a 20foot roll. I was trying to match Keiths tubes which I like also. I'll post the link later - but how much did this hose cost - mine was ~ $70 for 6 feet.
Bill how did you handle the holes for the belt covers...?

OK an Update here. I did get my hoses - didn't look quite as I expected but fitting the GTS ends I was ultimately very happy with the look and functional aspects.
At Sharktoberfest'05 my car was voted Best in Show (with the hood open) so I'm guessing folks liked the look. Several questions on sourcing... I saw lots of GTS's with alternate hoses... an epidemic!
I did get to see Keith's & Joe's hoses and while theirs look very good - and I would have bought that type of hose initially If I could have found it - I'm actually happier with mine.
First here is why you don't want to replace the GTS hoses... they are a real POS and can't help airflow - After 10 years they just fall apart... and they look like crap well before that - in fact even new replacements I've seen look all bunched up... a very bad deal for $300+. The only thing in their favor is they are stock. The claim is that they are for noise reduction only - thats the only plausible value to their design.
The new tubes I sourced from K-Mac Plastics Part # KH-511 as above link
http://k-mac-plastics.net/Hoses/neop...-Duct-Hose.htm
I ordered 6 feet but really only needed 4 (maybe 5 for safety margin).
My 6 feet was about $70... I could have saved a bit...
I would not recommend this hose so much without reusing the ends from GTS tubes (they just pull off) - these help to get the finished look. without you'd have to be very careful on where you end the spiral wire (below the ends). It does fit fine dimensionally on both the front opening and airbox ends but the end finish doesn't look as good.
This stuff is very tough - flexible fibreglass sandwiched between neoprene outer & inner surfaces. Rated to >300 degrees its scratch resistant and when cleaned has a slightly glossy sheen. Works well for the stealth black look - fairly smooth profile inside - much smoother than a GTS hose. The narrowest ID of the GTS hose is ~ 2 3/4" while the neoprene tube Min ID is ~ 3 1/4".
Punching holes for the belt covers was easy but you have to cut 1 part of the spiral wire and bend the ends over approriately - easy to do. The neoprene surfaces make it so its very unlikely to tear around the hole.
The GTS tube interior looks like it will absorb sound longitudinally and of course its well padded for radial noise supression (till it rips open at the taped seam anyway....). Frankly I never noticed ANY noise from the intakes either way....

Although my hoses were fine and still have some service left I decided to replace them (they have stiffened slightly and have a tear from a poorly installed banjo clip).
I contactd Bill about his install and he still had some left - so here it is in my new Black Yellow color scheme courtesy of Bill - intake powder coat next (planning crinkle black with yellow lettering).
