I agree US engineers are good...but I still think the Germans engineer as good as or better than anybody...and as for the Italians...best designers going. I'm proud to be an American of German and Italian blood! It is all about pride in work, and there I think we Americans are losing ground fast. We tought the Japanese everything they know about manufactuirng and quality and they continue to kick out butts in time to market and quality. We have become lazy!

How does the saying go? "A Ferrari is like a mistress, while a Porsche is like your wife". What then constitutes your Mother in law? I had a name for mine

Well gee, not off a wheelie, no, i don't think that matters at all for a street car.

I owned a T-type, i can assure you that it went where pointed.

When money is no object US engineers are clearly the best in the world, and vastly so.

It simply exaggerates a point -- GM front suspensions of that vintage are weak. A friend who inherited a 77 Impala from his grandmother discovered this the hard way when he bent an a-arm in a minor pothole. His previous car, a Duster, went up & down curbs, over bushes & trash cans, and through all kinds of torture, and never even needed an alignment. Another local guy owns a Hilborn-injected 340 4 spd duster, and I assure you the front end does not turn to spaghetti when it comes down off a wheelie. Also, follow another T-Type around a freeway ramp and note how much the front suspension flexes. Now follow a 928 around the same ramp at half again the speed(should be easy) and note how it DOESN'T flex.

I would never expect a midsize GM(or any midsize) to exhibit the suspension prowess of the 928...what is to me the ultimate GT car.

Remember, GN/T-Types were made for straightline performance only.
