thanks guys, glad you appreciate it! its been tremendous fun indulging my interest and seeing the car take shape, i feel ive learnt a lot through the process. ultimately id like to take a 928 and strip it right out, converting it to a track day only car. with this one though i think i will enjoy it too much and will want to keep it on the street, when its finished...

I love the look of these cars without the side moldings. Someday, when I re-paint, I'll do the same thing. Looks great!!

the arches are genuine porsche and cost a lot! i thought long and hard about using glass-fibre but in the end opted for steel as i was concerned about flex and cracking of the paint finish at the join. i think there are definite differences between the way paint goes on the two surfaces as well.

Default 928 motorsports hypercoil coilovers

so here are the new coilovers being fitted, they are from carl at 928 motorsports. i take pleasure in saying that the service from 928M is really good, parts sent without any fuss or delay straight across the pond here to the UK. i opted for bilstein shocks on the basis of cost as i cant justify the added expense for custom leda shocks at the minute, the springs are hypercoils with carls custom mounting system. fronts are 550 lb rears 350 lb, we will see what thats like.

i missed the questions about the seats, they are recaro pole position. there is an outfit over here called southbound motor trimmers, they custom finished the seats adding the orange sadle stitching and perforated leather to the cushions. they also use a custom seat mount which they have configured to retrofit these seats into the older cars, apparently the mounts from recaro wont quite fit although im not too sure on the details.

Spectacular car. And I thought it looked great from the outside. This ride is awesome inside and out. So many wonderful additions/modifications...all done in good taste.

in my opinion these cars are a classic and they do actualy warrant the investment needed to keep them in good condition. the return for this is a car with near timeless lines and performance to match, dynamicaly rivaling many more modern cars. i think we all are converts to the 928s charms!

just back from checking recent progress, i arrived at the shop to find neil nearly stuck in the passenger footwell entangled in wires! did i say the wiring wouldnt be a problem?? probably looks worse than it is. the rest of the install is coming along nicely, i didnt snap any pics of the front mounted engine oil cooler - we used a factory unit but mounted it in front of the rad. radiator is all water, no oil coolers. the front mounted accesory oil cooler from the old auto tranny we are re-using for the manual but have mounted it upside down to make way for the engine oil cooler. it all looks really sweet stuck in there, absence of aircon clutter together with a couple of heavy duty slim line fans on the back of the rad! i will take a pic next time

fuel lines are connected, wiring is on its way, exhaust and drive line are in place. also, the guys said they had a bit of a task fitting the uprated pressure plate due to the higher spring pressures. we have also added big red callipers from a 993 turbo along with the cross drilled discs to match (964 turbo i think?) and they really look the part! i still need some advice on the manual ajustment to the PSD but will post this in another thread. the exhaust is custom 2.5" dual back from an ott x, no cats.

andrew,

its made by e-tech in alluminium which is a bit heavy compared to carbonfibre but it really works! id love to have the one 928 specialists advertise, that looks the business IMO. i know mark K just uses the factory S4 spoiler raised by about 3" into the air stream and while im sure its effective i cant help but think bigger is better! the e-tech is popular over here with 'ricers' so as a spin off i get cred amongst a crowd who might otherwise dismiss the car as just a porker.
