Default HELP!! (UPDATE/PICTURE)

I'm under the Shark trying to remove the CAT pipes so I can install my test-pipe. Can someone tell me an easy way to pry the cat pipes from the aft pipes?

Everything is disconnected so I'll wait for a response

Nope, JB Blast, or WD-40 works best. you'll have to find the best leverage place to pull them apart. sux.

I had to use a rubber mallet to beat it to different angles to work it back and forth until it finally came out. The rubber mallet didn't damage the pipes at all but the whole job took about 30 minutes of hammering.

also - try heating it up with a small blow torch.

If you still can't get it...I'd also recommend removing the whole exhaust - from the manifold/header flanges back - not a HUGE job, and you'll be able to work on taking it apart and re-assembling easier.

Alright, after a little WD-40 and a lot of wiggling, I got it off.

I now have the test-pipe fully installed but I'm getting leaks around where the test-pipe slides into the aft pipes. Was I supposed to add anything around either ends??

The H-pipe seems smaller in diameter.

It does look smaller? Is there some type of high temp seal/gasket you could place in there?

A tail pipe expander would take care of that?

Wiggling side to side was the key to getting the cats off for me. Looks like it worked for you too. Habor Freight sells the pipe expanders.
