Injector ?
While they are out, is there anything simple that can be done for them at home like soaking in something? acetone or anything.

Thanks but someday i'll buy new ones just wondered if there was something simple at home. I've read all previous threads, i think there was a post quite a long time ago about someone who rigged up their own deal using a plastic jug.

One of the nice things about having them professionally done, is that they will match all the injectors so they all flow at the same rate, should be within 1% of each other. Plus you get a nice chart showing the flow rates before and after..

What kind of injectors? (Or, in other words, put the model year of your car in your sig...)
Injectors for the LH cars can be cleaned and balanced.
Injectors for the CIS cars are cheap enough that you just buy new ones.

If you have CIS injectors (purely hydraulic), then you can soak them without fear.
We have an 80S Euro with CIS injectors. I filled a glass peanut butter jar with Berrymans B-12 Chemtool ad drop the injectors in. Let them soak for a few hours - cleaned them up nicely!

Thems electronic - you have to send off for cleaning and balancing. I supposed, though, you could carefully soak the tips (lower 1 inch?) to get rid of the varnish/external crud.

i got mine done here: http://www.injectorservices.com/. it was extremely fast service. you get a report showing the condition your injectors were in before and after. the injectors come back cleaned and basically looking like new less the paint.
if this is the first time your injectors have ever been removed, you have to remove that brass collar and fuel line. the brass collar is a pita if you try cutting it off. i cut the rubber hose, then split it and removed with vise grips, then the collar just falls off. you will need new o-rings. one on the injector tip and a larger one on the injector body. they include the one for the tip, but i still replaced it with porsche ones to make sure they were the exact correct size. then you need to buy new fuel hose and clamps to reinstall. i bought a kit from 928 international. seems like a pretty good kit.

the euro injectors bosch 280.150.252 were 240 cc/min @ 43.5 psi. i think this translates to 22.86 lbs/hr. pretty close to the 24lb injectors from the 86 iirc. seems weird they wouldn't just use the same injectors.

What you do not want is for the injectors to varnish up and seize. A spray of carb cleaner or WD, followed by a little mystery oil in the bores couldn't hurt. I too would say now is the time to send them out, not later. But if it ain't broke...

Don't soak the in Acetone, it can damage the internal seals. The problem with just soaking them is that you may just loosen up the deposits that build up under the filters and they may clog the injector. Injector shops back-flush them while cleaning.
