Default Has anyone seen my 40hp?

I had it yesterday but now it's gone.
Actually I am getting ready to go to Laguan Seca next weekend and there is a 93db limit so I bolted on a stock exhaust system from the cat's back. Joe Fan and Andrea will be there as well and I think Kibort may show up so come out if you are in the area.

So this is what can happen when you have headers no cats flowing into stock S-4 resonators and rear muffler ? The hp loss and torque loss was evident all across the board and not just at over 400 hp. The good news is all the 911 boys have a very hard time with meeting the noise level ,you see lots of plumbing / Home Depo bits hanging on exhaust pipes Randy I could sell you his race exhaust we just "proved" it will add up to 40 HP !! (disclaimer ..significant other modifications may be needed to achieve the full benefit ) But the statement of UP TO 40 hp is true !

There is nothing wrong with the stock system. You will just need two of them.

Dual, dual-tip exhaust system.

did you dyno it? down to 440ish now?? wow, i wonder if your old quite exhaust was that bad.
remember you ran 1:35-6 and beat that cup car for the overall win last time.
you may need me on the radios to get some strategy to win this one like Sears!! Let me know, Jack and I will be there!

got to love Laguna if you are not running with SCCA or Pro! thats what i like about SCCA club. they run laguna and get the 103dB days for our races 3-4 times a year

SCCA SF region and Laguna cuased me to find silencres for my expansion chambers a decade or two ago, after too many noise complaints from the drivers we passed. Nowadays they measure as you drive by.

Make sure the exhaust pipe points away from the sound tester at the top of the hill. Sometimes an elbow or two will let you sneak by?

I have
107+ straight pipe
102.5db borla tip muffler only
100 db borla tip with 90 degree bend end from home depot
96db add mid muffler above rear axle
92 db add coffee can muffler from Kragen to end of borla with metal attachement bracket. (2.5" exit as well with this extra little straight through muffler)
91db, add 90 degree at the end of that.

alll didnt really hurt hp that much, but you should see the contraptions that the 911 guys will come up with!!!

Dr Bob they are real serious about the noise you get one "warning" and the second violation you put the car on the trailer for the rest of the event ... unless of course you are Kibort !

LAME - This is car racing, not golf.

Anyone who put their zillion dollar house near a racetrack and doesn't want to hear the sweet music of rapped out motors just needs to move. weenies.

And then there is Indianapolis, which is surrounded by residential areas right up to the track. As you approach the track a few miles away, the screaming
F-1 engines dominate any other sounds around you. At the road next to the track it is almost as loud as on the track. But the town probably knows what feeds it, and I suppose no one cares.

I guess the benefit of having your own town/racetrack (like indy) helps alot....so the town of the "speedway" doesn't have any noise ordinances....but the "town" across the street probably does? I still think its stupid that laguna has such rules....oh well

you should see how close the closest home is!! its a long way away, yet those noisy jets and airplanes can still take off and land unitl late at night and start at 6am!!! (at the airport even closer to town)
the raceway was there first, the guys that can hear something, should eat crow or learn to like it!

This is the same issue as with Reid-Hillview airport. People move in near a noise or hazard area, then cry and moan about the noise or hazard. I would volunteer a weekend each year if I could get such people to line up for a turn at getting my foot in their ***.
