Default ebay twin-turbo 928!!

Anyone know this one? Just curious if he's a rennlister and why he's not talking about his invention?

Try doing a a search for 'Goldmember'. That will fill you in on the history - and keep you busy for quite some time!

Goldmember and its current owner are frequent flyers to this forum....lots of details about the whole build process...very extensive too. I look forward to his results on the turbo S4!

I especially like his sales technique...

"To further annoy the drivers of these cars you can roll down the window and say "gee, I sure wish this thing had a 5-speed tranny in it"."

Ah yes...last time I posted "for sale" here Randy removed it becuase it was in violation of the "selling guidelines". You see, Herr Kuhn is not an official paying member. If you look closely at those photos you can see the latest addition to my fleet...a 1982 Cub Cadet tri-blade lawn tractor! What a nice old machine!

I annoyed the driver of a 4.6 liter GT Mustang last week....gave him a good leader until he slammed 2nd (5-spd)...then just ease the Goldmember's throttle down...5-7 car length overtake like it was standing still. That wasn't enough, he had to try up on the top end too and was again made painfully aware that it really isn't just some old slow gold bubble. Sometimes torque really is your best friend.

Why don't you see me on here a lot? Mainly lack of time and I've grown far too tired of all the BS floating to the surface on this particular board. I'd rather just focus on my work as of late. New house to take care of, painting my Audi over the next three weeks, upgrading my Callaway twin turbo to these new manifolds, an S4 twin turbo to build and maybe even a new girlfriend in the mix somewhere...I said maybe. The fun and excitement never ends. Sanding with the D/A, cleaning the pool & hot tub, cutting grass, going to work, trying to get to the gym, travel to Spain/England next week....UGH I need a break for sure.

Damn it, I need a website to market this stuff.

Never dynoed it...not sure, but my estimate is about 300-315 at the wheels. It is much quicker than my Callaway through the mid range...but that is about to change real soon! I might dyno the car here just to find out. I have the ability to read the MAF voltage and have the calibration curve...i.e. volts vs Mass air...that is a really good means of knowing the engine's breathing ability.

I've been driving this 88 S4 around town this week and I'm 200% confident the Goldmember would just kill it mid range...no comparison, just so much torque with the turbos. It is a really fun car to drive. It's never always about the numbers, but when the boost comes in on a cold dry day you are fired off like a shot...lots of torque makes for a wild ride.

Wanna boost your 3-spd car let me know. I'm taking the jigs and parts down this week for the Callaway's new manifolds. Going with mild steel and jet-hot like coating along with two K-26 units and Euro cams. I smell another 30-50 HP coming soon!

I admire what youve done John and i cant wait to see a set of S4 turbo headers. But that car will not sell without a dyno sheet IMHO. Just one guys opinion atleast.

Tony I agree that without dyno numbers it is much like if I were trying to sell the very brown 1980 and said it goes real fast feels like 150 or so but the speedometer is still the original 85 MPH ...

The ebay ad says new MAF sensor. Did you replace the L-jet system with an LH?

No it's L-Jet with MAF conversion. I don't need a dyno sheet to know this car makes good power. The performance numbers tell the story. 5.2 0-60 is good. The ***-o-meter also gives a good indication.

BTW Jim...I had to trim the key-hold for that dash kit you guys sell...someone should inform the manufacturer of that issue.

"with two K-26 units"

Damn, they're tiny.

Running a single TA-60 would give you a hell of a lot more power once it spooled up.(TA-60s on Buick 3.8 V-6 turbos make well into the 650+ HP range), but there would be a bit more lag.

No you don't but the person that wants to buy your car certainly would like a dyno chart. HP is very speculative until you dyno the car. If it does well on the dyno, that's a huge selling point. You may even reach your reserve with proof of power!
