Thanks everyone for the comments and compliments.

Keith - I hear what you are saying - there is a lot of overpriced snake oil out there. I just know that I have tried many different products over the years and have been less than satisfied with the results. This is the first dark colored car I have had that I have cared much about the finish, and I wanted to see if something better was out there. The best product I have used so far is Zymol, but it doesn't make it through many washes before needing another treatment. Plus the wax residue gets everywhere...

The proof is in the pudding - I need to wash it this week and see if the finish holds up. Its a long enough process I don't want to have to do it very regularly

Ketchmi and Dave - the fender and the door were a "before and after". The door had not been done at that point and I just wanted to illustrate how good the Zaino worked - the door matches the fender in terms of finish now

Kolbjorn - I took your advice tonight and watched the sun set on my car - except I had scotch and not coffee - the effect was the same though!

Thanks again everyone - I will post an update after my next wash...

Bill

I think you'll find Zaino lasts about 6 months. The secret to keeping up the finish is to use the enhancer in the spray bottle after each wash.

Bill, dark cars are a pain. I used the Porter Cable orbital buffer, 6-inch velcro pad and Griot's #3 fine polish, followed by Zymol Carbon was. Really a huge difference to clean up what I messed up a couple of months ago with a Makita non-orbital buffer (not enough polish, too slow a speed, yields lots of fine scratches)

Anyway, was shopping for a detailer locally and one guy, using Zaino, wanted about $200 per day and he thought it would take 5 to 6 days to do it! I though about that for about 3 seconds, the order the Porter Cable buffer and Griot's polish stuff. Black is so hard to keep looking great. ARRRGH
