Default DEVEK Header Sale

DEVEK is offering for the next 30 days Uncoated Level II Headers at the following prices:

1 5/8" - $610
1 3/4" - $815

These headers are available for all model years. We recommend the 1 5/8 for all engines up to 330 rwhp, and the 1 3/4 for above 330 rhwp or strokers.

Power gains are dependent on engine condition and what you place after the header. Header coating will be the responsibility of the buyer. Headers will be available approximately 45-60 days after this deal closes.

I can offer up to 15 sets at this pricing and the 15 sets is the minimum to get this pricing. I will offer a slight discount to group purchases paid by one person shipped to one address of 3 or more sets ....PavNW or SOCAL....??? Discount proportional to the quantity of the order.

Email Susan@DEVEK.net with the word in the subject - header special

Randy, please make a sticky for 30 days!

Merry X-Mas

Marc

I'm in for the 1 - 3/4". It would be nice for interested parties to post here so we can see whether or not we make the batch order.

How much extra for coating if we want it, and is stainless an option?

Marc, I need to talk with you about cams.

Will these 1 3/4 headers mate up with an Ott x-pipe or the new modular Specailist x-pipe?

Is 1 3/4 the largest pipe available?

Would the 1 5/8" be appropriate for a relatively unmodified (Autothority Chips only) 86.5?
If so, would they produce more power across the entire RPM range, or are they designed for more high-end power?

1 5/8 is plenty for any engine up to 400hp.

1 3/4 is really a racing header, and will show a loss of low end torque on the street.......well, at least on SB Chevy's that's the case.

Oops, that eliminates me. Sorry Marc. Thanks Sterling.

They will not "show a loss of torque" in a street engine. These headers are very well tuned for the hp and engine sizes that I noted. Having made over thousands of dyno runs on many different products, I have neer seen a loss of torque from a headered 928 unless the exhaust was poorly designed. In general, the 1 5/8 wouldl be considered a "torque" header due to thelength of the primaries.

Even our 1 3/4 is not a "racing" header ... just a good street header. Racing headers for the 928 would be uselss without a racing cams.

Jim, I am sure louis can modify your x pipe for you.....

Marc,
What kind of HP gain will I see if I use the 1 3/4 header with my current setup? I may consider it if the gain is substantial.
Thanks, Woody.

Hey Jim,

Don't bail out yet. I know Ralph Smith in Portland has headers on his GT with the X. I don't know if they are level II's though, I think he put the system together before the level II's were being sold. I would imagine that Louie is going to be using an X with his headers. I'm sure he'd be too busy to fab anything beyond his own project, but if he's already made that portion of this exhaust (header to X), I'm pretty sure he'd let us borrow it and have it fabbed somewhere.

I'll give him a call.

Mark@DEVEK: "They will not "show a loss of torque" in a street engine."

I didn't say they'd show a 'loss of torque'- i'm sure they'll show a very healthy boost in torque, but what i did say was 'loss of low end torque'.

That's no knock on anyones products, almost all large 1 3/4" primary headers(Hooker, Hedmann, etc) do that- chevy, ford, mopar, etc- big blocks being the exception. Yours may be so good that they don't, i was only making a general observation based on V-8 engines and ICE engines in general.

1 3/4" primaries tend to flow tremendously well, so they tend to give up a lot on the low end. It's just a general rule- don't mean it applies to yours.

I'm NOT knocking your product- i'm sure they work extremely well, ESPECIALLY in the high end of the RPM band where 1 3/4" really shine.
