Hmmm....this is completely new to me. I was not aware this was possible. More info would be appreciated.

Scott,
Your car is cat equipped, it doesn't have the pot above the fuel panel.....

Give the car a good Italian tune up with some nice fresh fuel in the tank. Then see how it's running.

The MAF may be a problem, but it might be something else.... How many miles on the car ?

Regards

Thanks John. It is an '88 track car with ~ 69k mi mass air screens removed. She ran great when I pulled her in the garage about 10 months ago. I took the air box off while I worked on her, but had a paper towel lightly tucked into the Mass Air to prevent any foreign matter falling in while I worked.

I will freshen up the fuel, fire her up again and run around the neighborhood see if he just needs to "cough up a few things" and feel better.

Default Update:

I fired the Yeti up at 6 pm last night (not 10 pm) so I could "blow her out" without getting lynched by the neighbors. After a few good, hard revs and idling for about 10 min. the fuel mixture, idle and small back fires cleared up. She sounds like the beast of old!

I still need to re-bleed the entire hydraulic system again to clean up the clutch and brake issue before I can take her for a spin around the block. The clutch is so bad I can't even put it in and out of gear and the brakes.
