Default Ground Wire?- Pic

Hello, I was going around cleaning ground points and ran across a black ground wire which bolts from the back of the driver's side timing belt cover to the coil bracket. I started to disconnect it and it broke in half. Can someone confirm that this is just a ground?

Thanks

I've noticed last night that the passanger side ground wire (same as in pic) is completly disconnected. My car runs great withouht it. Give it a try and start the engine. If it runds good drive it, and order a replacement. Install it when it arrives.

Thanks. I'm in a no-start situation and cleaning all ground points is what I'm doing now. When the car was running, I believe this wire was already broken. It just fell apart when I took it loose. I'll get a replacement and install it anyway.
Thanks

That's the ground for the driver's side coil. The passenger side coil ground attaches at the passenger side engine lift loop (which is mounted to the top-most part of the block, outboard at the front.)

The wire is indeed a ground from the coil to the engine............while the coil is static the running engine, especially with new mounts is in motion hence the stress and strain on the wires.

Easy replacement.

No such thing as "just a ground" on a shark....

Yes ... the complete phrase too often heard is " Screwed again .. by just a ground!"
There are more ground connections that one wants to count - and despite a certain redundancy, any one of these can let you down. You can order a replacement - but for pennies, that one can be repaired or replaced with a piece of wire and crimp on connectors.

Yeah..."just a ground" is certainly an understatement! I'm checking and cleaning ALL grounds and this one is an easy replacement. I'm on the way to autozone and get some wire, connectors and a good crimper. Hopefully I'll uncover my no-start problem.

Thanks

is there a part number for this ground wire? or a place to easily find a replacement the same length. I thought about cutting it and putting a new end on, but it looks like it might be a touch short then.

Mine is an issue with the circle head breaking off somwhere along the way. The wire seems fine.
