High Flow Injectors L-Jet
Does any know of a replacment injector for the 16v that will flow more fuel? I'm looking for a direct drop in. The OEM inj flows 24lbs at 40 psi.
Thanks-

I'm not sure what the flow rates are, but I understand that the L-Jet injectors spec for the 914 (1972 I think) will flow more than the stock injectors on the 928. Anyone have a list of flow rates for us old farts out there?

cant you use a converter to lower the ohms. i cant remember what it is but i think its possible to use them. Or make you own extra injector with a cold start injector or two of them.

With a boost-actuated FMU installed, we found that the stock injectors are fine up thru 8 or 9 psi of boost.
If you change to injectors that flow higher rates, the stock L-Jet map will no longer match the injectors you have. But I know you are installing an after-market Engine Management System, so that wiull not matter in this case anyway.
FYI - Tony has one of our kits, sort-of. He preferred to do somthing on his own fuel-system-wise, so he purchased about 2/3 a kit from us. Our Pulley, SC mounts and tubing, everything but fuel and FMU stuff. He's doing that on his own.
I justy mention it because some have asked where our kits are - and here is one.

Thanks Carl, Just thinking ahead. Motec ECM is in my far future......
I have the SC installed but have yet to install the belt. I'm tuning the fuel system under stock conditions. (fuel regulator under vaccum conditions) The FMU (B.E.G.I) is installed in the fuel return and will raise fuel pressure under boost conditions.
The reason why I ask for higher flow injectors is so I'm not so dependant on the FMU. It's good, it works, but 30lbs injectors are the best.
Carl have you tried the 914 injectors in a boosted 928. Idle quality same or goes south?
For those interested stock fuel pressure for my 1982 L-Jet was 30 PSI under vaccum (engine idle). I raised the PSI to 37. Above 40 PSI the o2 exibits a lazy switch rate, or the air/fuel ratio becomes too rich. O2 operation is important to me at because I don't want to foul the spark plugs, or corrode the muffler baffles.

why not just kick up the pressure with a regulator. you will get better combustion and atomization and wont have to change them (to a HP limit of course). i got 293hp at the rears with stock injectors at 52psi.

toofast - we had heard of the 914 injector swap as the HP upgrade for the 928 L-Jet and it was on my list of things to try if I needed to. Just never needed to - the stock injectors with a FMU worked so well I never had to try the 914 injectors.
I think with the Motec system in your future you will be very very happy.
These rennlisters might want to hear from you how the supercharger bolted up and how smooth your installation was. Pretty pwease...

I didn't realize the LJet style injectors were used on so many cars.
Perhaps you can find the next model up from the chart here: (eBay | LJet injector w/ cross reference)

Use the 914 1.7 liter units, they are plenty big enough to flow out serious fuel. These are the 009 units. I run them in both turbo cars and you can make them work with the air flow meter shoudl you choose to do so. Better to run bigger injectors and normal fuel pressure then to jack the fuel pressure up to say, 90 psig on the stock sprayers...specifically if you are going stand alone...no brainer.
