There are far too many supercharged 928s in the avatars here, and none of them are mine! Da**!

Can you share what the cats are? Are they the carshound/magnaflows? What is their diameter? I'm pretty hung up on the Dynatech I used on my VR4...but it would be a costly pair. I could feel a little impediment in bringing my Euro back into the cat-ed world from its former (leaky) Ott-X configuration. But it does sound better (to me, for a street car).

Are the pipes 2.5"? I.D./O.D.?

>Can you share what the cats are?

Not a problem

>Are they the carsound/magnaflows?

Correct. We can also offer a metal substrate cat version, but I don't think there will be any power difference and certainly not to justify the additional cost.

I understand completely as I prefer the cat version myself. Keep in mind our posted power gains were on a stock 928 w/RMB, no chips, no before and after fuel pressure tuning, ignition tuning and no cat back exhaust system changes or larger diameter exhaust pipes. With fuel pressure tuning and our crossover with cats I think you will be very pleased with the results.

Fuel pressure tuning -> CIS -> my ongoing nightmare....

I just checked the prices on the powercats- $165 per. Outch. I'm going to check your site to see what else has cropped up during my hiatus.

Thanks

Opps, I missed this question.

>Are the pipes 2.5"? I.D./O.D.?

2.5 " O.D. minimum (some sections are larger so the 2.5" OD can slip inside, etc)

FYI, just for future reference all metal pipes are typically measured as O.D., and plastic (PVC type) pipes are measured as I.D. Of Course then you get into different wall thickness etc.

thanks for the additional information, and the tip. I've had to make some 'creative' I.D./O.D. exhaust fitments to deal with variation between metric and standard piping in the past.

It does on occasion, but it gets cleared out quickly.

Default Modular X-pipe sound

DR or DC;

Can you respond to what I can expect for noise levels running DR's new X-pipe with no cats on a 85/86 32vS with the stock exhaust including the center resonator and stock rear muffler?.

Thanks in advance
Rich

Hi Rich,

Running our Modular Crossover without cats thru a completely stock cat back system I feel 100% confident you will love it and your neighbors will not hate it.

In reality it is very hard to describe sound levels and or changes with a keyboard, you pretty much have to hear it yourself. However, part of the beauty of our system is you can easily add the cats to reduce sound after the fact if you desire. AND do so with only a small sacrifice in power.

PLUS, if you get the system and truly do not like the way it sounds and you are unhappy with it you can return it for a refund.

Not precisely. I have only encountered such an exhaust setup once - on a '93 GTS: No cats, GTS resonators, stock GTS muffler. The volume level was in the same magnitude as that of a GT w/CATs and w/RMB. Louder than stock but not even close to ear-drum bustin' loud. Not NASCAR loud like a no-CAT w/RMB system. So, I second D.R.'s post.

If you need a 16V test car with MSDS headers let me know. I missed where the Trenton reference came from, but my car is going from VA to MD next week and then it'll be bouncing back and forth from MD to NJ (I need to run up the miles after letting it sit this long.). Trenton is only an hour or so from where I'll be in NJ, and 3-3.5 hours from MD.

Thanks Dave & Dave,

I can't wait then.

One last question (promise). When my car was on the lift I noticed a small diameter pipe running down next to the stock cats. I believe it attached to them.
What will happen to that small pipe when my shop installs the new M-pipe?.

Thanks again Rich
