Dave, Porsche specifically state that driving in Michigan voids the warranty. This is because the air in Michigan contains high levels of sonodo-monobioxidyl-phosphallus-twelve, which eats Reynolds Aluminium in a matter of seconds, unless protected by special distillates employing Foster's Law (ref: Y. Serious circa 1988 AD).

So, never ever buy a Porsche that has ever seen the light of day in Michigan.

They don't call that whole area (Mich/Ohio/Penn) the Rust Belt for nothing. I had a new car dissolve into a panel hole flapping heap in 5 year when I lived in Ohio.

Oh my...I bought my 924 from a guy in Grand Rapids . And I LIVE in Ohio! But I am around the Falls area quite a bit, and I've never seen that car out... Well that's where I can toss all the blame for when things break on my 924 atleast.

[Note: more kidding] WhoDak: It hasn't been driven in Ohio!!!! So you wouldn't have seen it. I guess if you haven't seen it out, then he is telling the truth. What a relief!! 'Cause if he HAS been driving it in Ohio, I want to know!! (But that still wouldn't be as bad as driving it in Michigan!)

Confession: I drove my '85 in Ohio two years ago, I-70 to Rt 37 to Lancaster and back to PA. But the car was decontaminated and I changed the tires as soon as I got back and had them incinerated and the ashes dumped at sea.

That's brilliant. Have you ever seen the decontamination washes when you cross the state line? Coming into PA I see it the most, they have pads that wash your tires and chassis sprays with some chemical stuff...they say that you have to drive for atleast 5 miles for it to dry before you get out or the vapor can burn your skin heh.
