Put about 8 oz. in. May take 12 or more, but do it in stages. The way I did it was with a long tube fed over the exhaust and suspension and out the wheel well with a funnel on that end. You may have a bit of a low loop, so the tube may not completely empty, and it helps to have someone hold up the hose while you get down to check the level. Others have used a bottle pump, but that requires more room underneath than a jack will create. Others have run the hose from the rear hatch area, perhaps through the gas tank access hole (big rubber plug) - not sure.
Now, if you don't have an external leak, you need to find out where the fluid went. If the shop removed the radiator, which has a tranny cooler side tank, you lost some there, which should have been replaced, but your loss is greater than I would have expected. So, without a leak, your fluid was low before the WP job.

I have 2 of those ramp stands and I think I am going to get two more, and that will give me the extra room under the car I need. Since the front spoiler isn't on the car I think that will work. As to the missing ATF, it looked pretty clean down there and I had devek change the filter and fluid about 3000 miles ago. Once I refill it, I'll clean everything really well and then check periodically for leaks. Mark

If the car is drivable, come on over this weekend and we can put it on my lift and really check it out. It's no hassle at all. Just let me know when.

All filled!!
Well, I came up with a creative solution for filling the AT. I positioned my car in the "V" between our street and my driveway! and then used a some square aluminum tubing and and a level to get the car level. I used the 2 jack points as you can see in the picture. I then used one of those tube thingies and squeezed the ATF into the resevior. It took about a quart! Mark

I assume you filled it while the car was running.

Yes, definitely while running! Well, the area wasn't absolutely clean, so perhaps there is some leak. I cleaned everything very well, so even a small leak should be detectable, upon inspection. M

Hey Vlocity,
I'm smiling because that's my new "928 Getto-lift". I am negotiating with Specialists, International, Motorsports, and Devek right now. Should be available in a couple weeks... (not available in all locations, and may require removal of front spoiler which may be accomplished in a single procedure while "lifting" the car...)
Bill,
So far the area around the tranny and filler are all clean and no evidence of any leaks, are there other places to check? Mark

Other loss spot would be the hoses and fitting to the radiator side tank (passenger side). It will run down the hose and form a puddle under that end of the radiator. If you see no drips, then you may have been low after the tranny service. Now that you have a nice ghetto lift, you can do this yourself. :-)
