Default Factory VIN decal availalility?

Is there a way to get a decal with the vin# that goes on the drivers door frame. I think mine was removed during a repaint of the car. I am also missing the color ID decal, but I think those are available through the dealer or maybe the big three?

I don't know about the color decal, but you can order a replacement VIN sticker through a dealer. They'll make a copy of your proof of ownership, and have you sign a special order form. Then they fax the form and info to PCNA, PCNA orders the VIN sticker from Porsche AG, and about 2 months later the sticker will be shipped back to the dealer. I just went through (and am still going through) this process for my 911. After waiting for two months, the VIN sticker finally arrived but the manufacture date was off by 3 years. Now I'm waiting 2 months more for the corrected one.

I replaced my VIN sticker using my local Porsche dealer. Took exactly three months for the first sticker, but it came with a VIN number error, so they had to reorder. So for me, it took 6 months to get the replacement.

Jim,

I ordered one from my local dealer a couple of years ago after damaging mine while cleaning the door jamb. It cost $65 and took quite a while to get.

My current decal is silver with black lettering but the new decal is black with white lettering.
