Default Sharks n Da HOOD - SEPTEMBER 15 -17

SEPTEMBER 15 - 17

My good friend and 928 addict Quadruplenutz made an astonishing suggestion, and I'm going to run with it. We're planning an event in the Pacific Northwest OF INTERNATIONAL SCALE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We call it, as Pat said, "Sharks 'n Da Hood".

Porsche 928's at Mount Hood, Oregon. Date will be around the third week in July or the first week in August. We're planning on checking in with the 928 Owners' Club on this event, and Pat's company will be a major sponsor (he's already committed $$$, and organiser staff).

You'll hear more about this as we get it pulled-together, but we're hoping to get all you guys and gals here to join us.

Heinrich

Is he a member of the PacificNW 928 board? (Tom M?) It is posted there also. However, if he is not a member of PacNW928 msg board then if anybody can get ahold of him it would be fabulous.

By the way why did Jim get banned? I have heard it is only temporary and he will be back.

I think he'll be back but it would be a shame if he didn't get to join y'all.

Heinrich..............just checked the kms from this side of the border to the 'Hood; approx. 11-12hr drive if we follow the mapquset route. Add in the border and subtract the cars rapid ability to eat up 'miles' should be a days drive.

Couple questions re. speed limits and legality of radar detectors? Need to know ASAP to plan around summer activities............the car has started pawing at the ground already!!!

Thaddeus, this event is open to all Porsche enthusiasts and particularly 928 enthusiasts, even if they don't currently have a 928. Jim is one of the Pacific Northwest 928 owners, I can think of no reason why we would be worried that he would not be invited, just like everyone else is. Think broader than "local seattle dudes" ..... this event will be MASSIVE. and FUN

Malcolm, having you and our fellow Canadian 928 brothers and sisters here for this event will be a PLEASURE second to none. Radar detectors are WELCOME. Speed limits: On Interstate 5, limits range from 60mph (standard) to 70mph (open road) and watch out for the northern Washingtonian towns, limits plummet through them to some ridiculous crawl. However, from the border there are stretches of autobahn where your sharkie can be let loose to feed at will for miles and miles. I know ... my S4 hit speeds last time that sucked my bellypan to the ground, and when we stopped, it was back up against its mounts.

Heinrich, Heather has been trying to call you to begin the coordination of the event. We are going thinking giving away a couple of Louis's signature X-Over exhausts for the cars that comes from the furthest distance (so it can be heard well going back home) and stuff like drop links for door prizes for the first 20 arrivals, and some really great events and stuff.

This week end will be worth it at Mount Hood! We need to get an immediate head count so we can begin the group rate reservations at Timberline Lodge
TIMBERLINE LODGE
Nestled midway to the summit of Mt. Hood is Timberline Lodge, a National Historic Landmark and masterpiece of mountain lodges. Constructed of mammoth timbers and native stone in 1937, Timberline Lodge stands today as a tribute to the rugged spirit of the Pacific Northwest.

LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!

Excellent news, please communicate the choosen weekend at your earliest. We've a few cars up here spread out over the province. Not sure who can all make it but hopefully a few cars to make up a convoy; just in case we need to pool bail/beer monies
