My left turn signal is not canceling after left hand turns. Anyone ever had this problem? What kind of work does it entail? How much for a new switch combo? Any ideas are appreciated. 88S4 Thanks, Dave

If it fails to cancel only in one direction it is a bad switch. When they fail to cancel both directions it can be the tab broken on the horn contact ring on the back of the steering wheel. The new combination switch is about $160. We stock the switch.

this is the same problem with mine right now. What happens is the little tab probably on the turn signal handle broke off or has severely worn down. Check out 928 International for a used one since the new ones may be a little pricey. I am dealing with mine since it doesn't bug me that much. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I have a brand new horn ring that I thought I needed for my 86.5. The 86.5 is gone now. It's $15 at 928 Intl. I'll sell it for that including shipping. PM if anybody is interested.

The plastic "cancel" tab (not on the horn ring, but the bit it touches to cancel the blinker) can become dirty with dust and the like and get stuck on occasions. Mine did that after I installed my 930 wheel. I went back in and cleaned everything up and now it cancels correctly.

My turn signal does the same thing...I have learned to shut it off manually--it adds to the character of the car. Although if I forget I look like a seventy five year old driving down the road in a Grand Marquis with the blinkers on for miles...

Instead of the Nichols site tape approach I took the cap off of a WD 40 can...you know the kind with the little ridges, extracted the side portion of the cap and epoxied it to the wheel so that the arm would now engage. I wrapped the piece in place with rubber bands while the glue set.
Made that little fix about 3-4 years ago and works like a gem.
Embarassing fix....but it has worked perfectly.
Regards,
Ken

mine doesnt cancel left or right as well. I have just gotten used to it, and find myself cancelling the signal on every car I drive. The worst part is that the blinker is silent and after parking you have the dinger dinging off its hook and you sit there for ten minuetes saying to yourself, what the hell is going on?!

Had exact same problem - no left turn cancel. The tab on the steering wheel had just worn down. If you're not sure it's the tab just turn the ignition on and test the switch first by flipping the switch's trip lever with a blade screwdriver.
I did a similar repair as above. Just wrap some 3/4" tape a few times around the tab and harden the edge with glue.
