So far has worked fine on three GTS's, 2x89S4, 89GT,90GT.
Some issues with Ernies 91GT, however that could be the car or the unit.

I guess it's an individual unit problem.

Would this work on a 964 C4? Need to bleed PDAS with the "Hammer" but don't have one.

Yes, the Spanner is in my toolchest and has been quite useful to me and other 928s in the area.

the Spanner didn't work on my 88... IIRC it's only for 89 and newer Pcars

My wrench recently acquired a new diag device - can't recall the name - but does EVERYTHING the Sys Tester 2 does - except reset newer door and alarm codes - it was around $4k!

None of this thread applies to me, tho. no diag ports on my cars...

I stand corrected,
though we tried it at SITM with a special connector the gent had and it didn't power up... not sure if that was an issue with the spanner or connector (the hammer powered right up on the 88 and gave me the info I was looking for)

I recently aquired a hammer from John. I want to resolve an airbag issue I have on my GTS. I have come to the stage where I would like to hook up the hammer to another car besides mine and like to use your spanner to compare it's read out on my GTS. I'm working with Alan's guide for the FWM wiring guide to break out the circuits of interest to me at this time. can you let me know if at some point and time you would be available to run some test. You can send me a PM or e-mail and we can exchange phone numbers.

Herman,
You are welcome to try out my Spanner, however I am in the DFW area.
You can also hook up the Hammer on my GTS.

Hi Rixter,
If there was no display at all on the Spanner, then it sounds like a lead is off +12v unswitched, or a fuse out.

The Hammer works on just ignition switched +12v. The Spanner uses both +12v unswitched and +12v switched.

Plenty of guys with MY88 cars have used the Spanner without problems. :-)

Regards

Herman,

If you're going to be in Houston, let me know and you can borrow my Spanner. I'm in the Heights.

If you're going to Marble Falls we might be able to do it there? If not lets look at a date and time a few weeks down the road, suitable to you and I will come to Dallas.

Thx HK 94 GTS

I can come to the heights any time on a 2-3 days notice. I estimate we would need a 1-2 hours time slot. So whenever that would be convenient to you let me know. I send you a PM with my mobile #

Thx HK 94 GTS
