That's why i advised the dead pedal switch location.. this way, you can floor it, not worry about pushing anything or holding anything down that you could CONTINUE to hold down, when you put the clutch in. You usually hit the nos button on the dead pedal , after the clutch is released and the rpms are on their way up and the car is straight. i bet a lot of lost engines were due to over rev, when the adrenaline is pumping, you hold down the button and forget to release it when you shift gears. actaully, in drag racing, thats probably not a bad idea as its like a soft speedshift, providing you make a clean shift, if you miss a gear, then that can be "boom" too.
dont worry too much about purging, that does get the gasious NOS out of the lines, but would only make things rich for a very short period. actually, probably a good thing in a drag, to not over power the rears on the green light. in road racing, it was very hard to tell purged vs non purged power levels.

Single nozzle is o.k. direct port gets a response that split second faster. The kits are cheap but you should run with the add-ons. Bottle warmer- want to keep pressure up around 1000 p.s.i. . Purge- want liquid nitrous entering engine not vapor. Fuel pressure cut off- prevents "dry" shot. W.o.t. switch- if you want to go faster before w.o.t. then you should just be pressing gas pedal to the floor. Blow-down tube on bottle. Usually tell people hit nitrous 2/3 thru gear to relieve stress on driveline. Hits off the line don't make the torque converter last too long. Even with the 50 shot you shoul feel the hit decent. If the bottle was not warm making the pressure too low will make a huge difference. I like the Nitrous Express products better then others. Use loctite on your nitrous fittings, teflon dope tends to leak.
Tony go with a direct port with hard lines even if just for looks. The plastic lines would look cheap on your car. Plus you should be able to use the nitrous intercooler set-up. Let me know if there are any questions I can help with, Ben

Very Cool! I have been thinking about getting a purge kit, I think it makes a BIG difference on a 1/4 mile, plus the cool factor can be totally worth it if you don't mind throwing quarters out the window. Now if only we had a cool place to purge like that... Maybe the headlight squiters?
One other note: I didn't have the blow down tube installed, mainly because I didn't know what it was for and where it went. The track requires that you have one installed and that it be vented outside. I guess it's in case the pressure reliefe valve opens on the NOS bottle so it vents outside. They said if it were to open during a race, you'd puke in less than 2 seconds! Not good! But they let me race anyway... Cool guys!

actually, probably not having a purge is good. Kind of like progressive NOS. im sure when you got WOT, its not more than a 1/10 of a second before the lines are clear and you are burning the coldest stuff.

the cobra thing is way cool!!
i think the 1/10 of a second thing is for cars wth drag slicks and 200shots. on a street car with street tires, i dont think there is much of a diff in the first few feet, due to tire spin.
