Default supercharged 16v 928

Has anyone installed a supercharger on their 16v 928 and if so, what kinda numbers are you geting and do you have dyno sheets? I went to Carls website and saw the dyno sheet there, but would like to hear and see more from people who have installed the kit on their car as well.

Yes, I have recently installed 928 Motorsports Supercharger on my 1978 Euro. I can't seem to shrink the dyno sheets small enough to post here. So listed are the values on the "uncorrected" dyno sheets for pre & post SCOB install of my car at 5300 ft above sealevel.

Uncorrected Pre SCOB
Max HP: 159.49, Max Tq: 189.22
Uncorrected Post SCOB
Max HP: 217.85, Max Tq: 228.34

HP: +36.6%, Tq:+20.7%

I'm currently running leaner than the Dyno operator would like to see the AFM so we called it a day after two runs until I can get it "sorted" out. If interested I can talk about how the install went. Suffice it say that I'm envious of you owners at sealevel! Us mile high shark owners find it a bit hard to breathe with this thin air.

One of the great things about forced induction is that it moves you back to sea-level.

That's pretty good considering:

1) you are 5300 ft above sea level (thin air) on a 16v OB
2) you do not have our Fuel Enrichment System for CIS cars installed
3) those are RWHP numbers.

Kevin - lets get the FES installed (your car needs it) and go again!

How was the installation? Straight-forward?

How were the instructions?

At lower elevations, our Stage 2 kit is doing this on a 78/79

BTW - that is a prototype FES system on that motor - now we know we are traveling in the right direction. With some engineering help from Kinsler I have redesigned a better FES than the one used in the dyno chart above, and hope to have it to the dyno soon.

Uhm...damn Carl! Did you do the testing in a hurricane or something? Air pressure at 29.14 with a local elevation [I'm guessing] of 800 feet above sea level gets you to 1540 feet altitude pressure altitude. Similar to my parents house in the hills of Western North Carolina.

Now...at 87 degrees fahrenheit....that elevation works out to some huge density altitude. Density altitude is the imaginary altitude in the standard atmosphere that your tests would take place at- the standard atmosphere being 29.92 inches of mercury air pressure and 59 degrees. It looks to me like you were testing your car in Denver...not Horicon!

The Dynojets around me are either in MIlwaukee or Madison WI.
This dyno chart was pulled in Madison (its newer than the Milw setup).

I can't account for the Dyno's calibration - I do not operate the thing. I drive oin and I drive off.

But, you make an excellent point. I will be going back soon with a new-and-improved FES for the CIS setup, and I will pay closer attention to the calibration now that you have armed me with this information.

One of the UK (John Speake?) members said that every SCed S2 he knew of had serious issues. If Kibort is correct in his measurements, an 84-86 Euro is 11:1 which could explain having SCing problems.

kmc, that pre-SC 159rwhp sounds pretty good for a 78 in Denver.

Yes, I've installed a Vortech supercharger on my '84 928s track beast. It wasn't exactly a kit, I bought a few of the pieces and manufactured the rest. 209 corrected rwhp stock went to 265 corrected rwhp on about 5 psi of boost. I just got the a/a intercooler and a smaller pulley installed, I'm getting about 10 psi now. I haven't dynoed it in this configuration yet but there is substantially more under my right foot now.

No rising rate FPRs, no spark retard boxes, all the fueling and sparking is handled by the GM 1227749 ECU.

In the new pics at the bottom of the page I had a piece of striaght pipe mounted in place of the IC while I was waiting for the last bends to come in.
