Way cool, Dave. You've inspired (and shamed me about my dirty engine bay enough) to rebuild my engine from the ground up. I can't wait to get the phone call Thursday.

Andrew, get a video camera. I'm thinking this will be as good as Young Frankenstein.

I've got a camcorder and a volunteer who can take the tape and host it, although it'll take a few days. In the meantime, I'll also use the crappy video part of my digital camera....huge file, low quality.

My new(er) video camera will capture up to 30 min. at full VGA res at 30fps. I'll bring that and the tripod (if I find it...). Should be able to host it here on rennlist too!
Looking forward to it.

Dave... Awesome achievement! I love the monkey pic too.

Also... kind of a dumb question(I hope)... but did you fill the oil filter before you installed it? Also I would encourage you to crank it with the coils disconnected until you get oil up to the cams...

Dave;

Every major project has to have a beer tally. Where does your stand now?? Pints? Cases? Keggs???

Yes, I filled the oil filter before screwing it on by hand. I even remembered to put some oil on the rubber seal

The fuel injection relay is still out from when I did the compression test....oh about 8 months or so ago.

As far as a beer tally goes, we went through a 12 pack when the engine went in. Other than that, it's been water. I did manage to listen to Reservoir Dogs, Animal House, Boogie Nights, Saving Private Ryan, American Pie, Scarface, Cannonball Run, Risky Business and Glengarry Glenross about 12 times each. Andrew can confirm that I can recite the dialogue pretty much verbatim now.

One other thing...the shark is now insured again...Hagerty!

Andrew:

I might want to host it on the 928 OC server (since I've got access to as the Michigan region website guy). That server is usually a lot faster than the Rennlist member server.
