I cannot quite put my finger on it.... but something here violates the second law of thermodynamics.

That must be the law that the Enron dudes are being prosecuted for violating.

Typically Mother Nature reserves fiery death and destruction for those that attempt to break Her laws. Too bad we cannot delegate to Her purview of FASB/GAAP.

I think Martha went to jail for Kenneth in a tag team tradeoff. The car is nice, but then what does it need? They always need something. I did notice that the majority of cars listed on ebay lately were 100K + in the mileage. In a way, I would like to see the nice cars rise in value so that restoration would make more sense. However I saw a beautifully restored beemer yasterday at Carlisle for 5,500.00 with 20K$ in reciepts and truly as nice as they come. I almost bit. I think Jim B is right - you have to have the cash in hand and be ready to deal. I can always "win" on ebay with a load of adrenaline and an extra dollar. And then I get what I get - usually a big bill and an unsolved mystery problem that one has to expect the previous owner knew about. The guy who told me, "I wouldn't ever tell you to buy a 928 on ebay, but you can trust me.", was well known by his state Attourney Generals' office - NO LIE. Whenever I see a car listed twice I always wonder why it wasn't paid for by the previous high bidder. That 89.00 one way ticket would have let me see what I would soon be paying return trucking for. So I was out two way shipping, but what are YOUR chances of getting a refund from a private seller ? So bid it up if you want, but DON"T pay for it until you see - drive it. I drove 9 hours once to see a car and turned around and drove back without knocking on the door as it was that good. I emailed the owner a list of defects I could see from the driveway, and funny thing was he never did complain about my refusal of sale. I could go on. Yes ebay is a great way to see a lot of cars, but be patient, look carefully, and you will find a beautiful car with a knowledgable fastidious owner who is more concerned about the right person getting his baby than getting his money back. No lie.

Sure its nice...but it could have a ton of "under the surface" problems! Just a few things go bad on that car and your another $10K into it.... The price is way too high....low $20's at best "IF" it passes PPI with flying colors (from a 928 shop). Still for a non-GT it really isn't worth anymore than an 87-88! Would make a good Concours car though! For the same kind of money this guy wants your better off with a real GT
