Ever seen one nicer?
This has to be the cleanest 89 5 Spd on the market... A bit too pricey for me..

Y'know, if I just sold a kidney and maybe a few other major organs, that Buy it Now would be pretty tempting... ;)
I bought my 928 almost five years ago now, the last two of which I've spent living an ocean away from it. I move back to the US in just under two weeks, and I can't wait to get behind the wheel again! Somehow, the rental Fiat Puntos aren't quite doing it for me anymore... ;) |
This car has been up on the block before. Same seller too I think. It is indeed very nice.
It's been owned by a dealer for a long time. The inspection sticker is from 1993.
The auction ended at a high bid of $31,000 the last time it was listed, and of course, didn't trip the reserve.
This guy's running anonymous auctions. I'll eat my hat if there isn't some shill bidding going on.
Harumph. Amazing how much Armor-All is on that car. Like somebody wearing too much makeup and too much perfume... what's being concealed?
If it smells like cologne, leave it alone...
This IS an awesome example, makes me drool... But while I don't share his optimism regarding the selling price, I have to admire the attitude. Why give it away for cheap? Maybe someone bids up to $35k - which is still a good selling price - and they can make a deal after the auction has closed? Who knows... But it will find a new home! eventually, and I hope it'll be a good one.

Yeah, it's been for sale before with a good ending price. I don't understand his reasoning. I mean $31,000 for an '89 is great.
That really does look from the pictures to be a prime example. I've had from time-to-time a hankering for an '89 S4 5-Speed to compliment the '89 GT. But, I'd want one to drive! And every mile driven on this one would cost at least a dollar. Seems to me the seller is looking for a collector and pricing the car for collectors only. Not drivers.
Yeah, he should have sold it to the guy offering the 31 Gs.
In fact, I think I'll sell my 928 right now to the guy who offered me $250 grand. There. I just sold my low-mileage GT to myself.

And I agree that this is not a car you'd dare to drive... So nice that it's too nice to subject to the forces and risks of the road...

Our 1989GT was in better shape. The door panel inserts and rear seats show some problems with this car. Nice but not that nice.
Just my opinion. |
